It plays an important role in the history of Sino-Western cultural exchange. The English translation of ''The Analects of Confucius'' has always been a hot topic for study. The author selects 32 articles, including all essays in the last five years and the most cited in the past, and divides them into five aspects: the analysis and comparison of translations, the translator's perspective, the translation of unique cultural or linguistic phenomena, the problems in the existing English translations of ''The Analects of Confucius'' and the dissemination of ''The Analects of Confucius'' in the West. This paper is a literature review of the achievements made by scholars in this field, which also points out the deficiencies, so as to promote the development of translation of Confucian classics and related studies.

 ''The Analects of Confucius'' (Lun Yu) is one of the most important works of Confucianism, which records the remarks of Confucius and his disciples. It occupies a very important position in the history of Chinese literature and ideology. It not only has a profound influence in China, but also is one of the earliest works translated into English and spread in the West in ancient Chinese classics, and is also one of the most translated and interpreted Chinese classics.

 The translation of Chinese classics is an important part of promoting the dissemination of Chinese culture in the world. The process of translation, dissemination, acceptance and study of ''The Analects of Confucius'' in the West is a microcosm of translation, dissemination, and acceptance of Chinese culture. Li Weirong, Liang Huina, Wu Suxin (2015) introduced three stages of translation of ''The Analects of Confucius'' in the West, including the beginning, the maturity and prosperity and expansion of the translation and research in the West, presenting the whole picture of ''The Analects of Confucius'' in the West.
 Wang Yan (2010) focused on the development of contemporary Western Sinology. The author believed that the contemporary English translation of ''The Analects of Confucius'' mainly appeared after the 1990s, which was influenced by the trend of contemporary Western Sinology research.
