The talk is about human behavior and moral evolution, in which the narrator compares people to animals and discusses the ethical aspect of canibalism. Then he talks how far does the history of cannibalism go and brings up a chinese myth about a legendary cook who cooked his son. Finally, he brings up a worrying case of murder from previous year.

		+	The doctor recommends gaining weight. Madman believes that the man is poorly hiding his true intention of fattening him up, so that there’d be more of his flesh to eat. At such thought he laughs maniacally, worrying two men present, although he believes his laughter to be a sign of courage. He starts fearing that they may want to eat his flesh to gain that bit of courage for themselves. In the end he concludes that his own brother is a cannibal too.
