People believe in and worship the God of Wealth with great devotion in order to get rid of the sufferings of the present world and to satisfy the psychological needs of survival and development. Worshipping the God of Wealth means to collect all the wealth from the five directions in the east, west, south, north and center. 		+	The concept of wealth is an important part of the belief in the God of Wealth. People express their pursuit of wealth by worshipping the God of Wealth, reflecting the people’ s attitude and view of wealth. The God of Wealth, as the carrier of people’ s belief, is a concentrated manifestation of the people’ s concept of wealth. [1]
		+	Firstly, all the world is bustling with the pursuit of wealth. It is the unchanging desire of people. Sima Qian in the Han Dynasty pointed out that all the hustle and bustle of this world is driven by the desire for gain, revealing the phenomenon of the people running around for wealth. Proverbs such as “People die for money, birds die for food” and “Money makes the Devil turn the mill” also reflect people’ s fervent pursuit of money over the past thousands of years. In Zhao Gongming Helps Gamblers Get Rich, the gambler hopes on the divine power of the God of Wealth and expects to get rich overnight, which reflects a distorted view of wealth. Secondly, wise man makes fortune with morality. In the legend of the God of Wealth, justice and morality are not only the cornerstones to become a god, but also the key conditions for people to obtain the blessings of the God of Wealth. The various moral norms manifested in the legend of the God of Wealth inspire and educate the public, attempting to guide people to pursue wealth in the right way with traditional values, and alerting the public not to abandon traditional ethics and morals and blindly chase after wealth. Thirdly, life and death are as Heaven decrees; and rank and riches are as Heaven bestows them. In the legend, it points out that the amount of wealth is determined by fate, reflecting the unequal distribution of wealth in society. When the gap between people’ s wishes and the reality widens, they will helplessly attribute it all to the fate of heaven, believing that wealth cannot be forced, and that even the God of Wealth cannot change this status quo. To a certain extent, this view also counsels people not to be overly obsessed with the pursuit of wealth, thus effectively balancing people’ s wealth mentality. [2]

		+	East God Bi Gan: Bi Gan was a loyal minister during the Shang Dynasty, who was framed by Daji, a fox demon, and was ordered by Tyrant King Zhou to dig out his heart and die for his direct advice. Jiang Ziya considered his talent to be outstanding and named him the God of Wealth. The people thought he had no heart thus he was fair, and worshipped him as the Civil God of Wealth, in charge of the East Road Wealth. [3]
		+	West God Guan Yu: One of the five strongest generals of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period, he was famous for his loyalty, benevolence and courage, and was honored as the Military God of Wealth.
