Answer: Maybe 100 if both translation and correction have been done in time. If pinyin used to translate names you can deduct 20 points (resulting in 80 points), if you see that it is copied from the internet or translated with Baidu Fanyi please give 0 points.

If there is text for the topic in the text book, we make the quiz with the questions from the textbook. Also in order for you to input the grades in the Grades List, it is important for you to know the correct answers. You can ask the teacher for a solution book with most of the answers. Please be so kind to edit the solution book so that the chapters are in the correct order and all missing answers are added.

How to create a webpage in Wiki

Q: 我知道大概做出来是什么样子,但是具体操作还是比较迷糊……

A: 你用ctrl + f (f 是 find 的意思)找一下你想建立新的网页的地方。比如你要建立一个叫做 “wiki admin”的网页,那你先login,然后课网页里按一下“edit”。这个edit在最上边。然后在editor里面先找一下“wiki admin”两个词。找到了以后前边和后边写两个标点符号,就像这个样子:[ [ wiki admin ] ] (这些空格不要写,我只在这里写空格因为否则它在这个faq里面就变成连接了。你要按“save”,然后输入“wikicaptcha”这个密码。然后你看得到课网页,现在你加了标点符号的地方变成红色的链接。红色的意思是这个链接后面还没有网页。蓝色链接的意思是已经有这种网页。

The main task for the teaching assistant is to coordinate the work of the students, the wiki admin, who creates the subsection on the course homepage for the next session(s), the creates homework webpages and links everything on the course website, and she prepares the section of the course website which concerns the following week's tasks. The teaching assistant especially needs to remind the other assistants and the students to do things in time so that everybody can do their own tasks. E.g. if a student picks a topic and the text for the topic is not in the textbook, then the teaching assistants needs to find 2 more students, and the 3 create a textbook text and references, create a list of terms, questions and answers, and the survey assistants need to set up a quiz for the questions, the wiki admin needs to link the quiz in the homework section of the course homepage and the teaching assistant needs to check the results for the quizzes and grade the results in the student grades list.

That means the teaching assistant needs to be at least one week ahead of time, because all the other students wait for her.

So the first things to do would be to check if there is already a section on the website for the following week.

If not, you can instruct the wiki admin as follows:

Normally the course websites are structured with headlines. We have different headlines which appear larger (level 1) and smaller (level 2, level 3 etc.). In order to create a headline and therefore mark the section of the webpage as a separate part, you can add a "=". For example, if you want to create a new weeks' section, you can simple add

"= Session no. 2, Feb 28, 2022, Topic: Ancient Literature = " (of course, you do not type the blank spaces and no quotation marks)

After saving, this new section exists.

And you need to list under this header all the contents of that session.

It is good to create some subsections, by listing some minor headlines beneath, for example:

"= = Texts to read from the textbook to prepare for this session = ="

(Here you list this topics, student names and links to a new website (you remember, that is done by typing [ [ .... ] ]) to access the text the student created.

(Here you list this topics, student names and links for the student presentations. A link not to a website, but to a file (for example a pptx file) looks like this: " [ [ Media:Ancient_Literature_by_Wang_Jianguo|This is the link to the ancient Literature powerpoint by Xiao Wang ] ]".

Please make sure that you leave a blank line between two lines, because paragraphs are shown in Wiki linked together, only if you add a blank line, Wiki will display it as two separated paragraphs.

Also if you want to create a bullet list, simply type a "*" in front of the line for each bullet point. If you want to insert a picture, there are also editorial conventions. Please refer to the general website on how to edit in Wiki.

Also if you copy and paste a text into Wiki, please remember to delete any leading spaces at the beginning of lines. If you have a space in front of the line and then the text begins, it will be displayed in a grey box. So delete the spaces at the beginning of the line and it will appear as normal text.

How to create a homework page (a task for wiki admins)

Please make sure that you have a consistent naming convention for the webpages in order to keep the overview. You can look at the samples from last years.

It is also important that you repeat all links on new webpages, meaning that you should add a link to return to the course homepage on top of all new webpages.

How to distribute the homework to different students (a task for wiki admins)

1. Please create a student roll 学生名单. Then reformat it that it fits the following sample:

(So you can see that they follow alphabetic order. All without quotation marks and spaces.)

2. Then distribute the text in equal parts to the students. In general, one should translate about 3 screen lines, which corresponds to 1-3 sentences:
