So Bella gets married to Edward, finally does the deed with him and immediately gets pregnant. Not so strange, perhaps, except for the vampire part, but the birth process makes Rosemary's Baby seem like a fairy tale.

Bella is literally and graphically torn apart by the arrival of her hybrid human/vampire offspring, who is bizarrely named Renesmee (worst name ever!) ニューバランス レディース The birth is so violent, Bella almost succumbs from her injuries, but Edward brings her back to "life" by changing her into a vampire.

The details of this are gory enough to read on the page, Bill, and it's almost unimaginable to think of them on the screen, especially if you hope to retain any semblance of that profitable PG rating (PG13 stateside) that the Twilight films have enjoyed.

But wait, there's more. Jacob the werewolf has been hanging around during the bloody birth uproar, and when he gets his first glimpse of tiny Renesmee, he immediately "imprints" upon her, which is the werewolf equivalent of a teen crush.

I couldn't bear the thought of my beloved offspring turning into a vampire even if she acts like one on weekends, partying all night and sleeping all day. Rowling does the Harry Potter franchise, and no serious departures from text are allowed.

But miracles do happen. Remember, Bill, that you already have experience in opening up closed minds. You managed to get the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to sign off on major changes to the 81st Oscars ceremony, which you executive produced last year. That idea you had about having previous award winners welcome nominees into the fold? Seemed weird at first, but it really worked.

If the Oscars will bend, why not Breaking Dawn? It will be hard sell, getting Bella to stay human, not have a monster child and to boot Edward in favor of Jacob.
