生于1942年的吴有生,是浙江省峡州市人。1968年他从清华大学工程力学系研究生毕业,被分配到中国船舶科学研究中心（702所前身）结构力学实验室工作。虽说处在风云动荡的年代,吴有生像许多胸怀大志的科学家一样,丝毫没有沉沦, 而是利用一切机会学习、实践。20世纪80年代初,国际上享有盛誉的二维水弹性力学理论创始人、英国伦敦大学的比绍帕教授应邀前来讲学,惊奇地发现吴有生的研究水平已经很高了。爱才心切,当得知吴有生即将赴美进修时,立即建议他改往英国学习,并愿意帮助解决一切手续和学习费用。

He was surprised to find that Wu Yousheng's research level was already very high. he was eager for talent. when he learned that wu yousheng was about to go to the united states for further study, he immediately suggested that he study in britain and was willing to help solve all the formalities and study expenses.

1981年6月,吴有生到达伦敦,决心要在这优越的条件下实现学术上的超越。他每天工作十几个小时,没有星期天、节假日。当他终于把自己的第一批研究成果 交给导师比绍帕时,导师感到由衷的高兴。面对打印好的、凝结着三年心血的厚厚 博士论文稿,面对那张外国人习惯给亲人或父母献词的扉页,吴有生感慨万千,沉 思片刻,郑重地用英文打上了久藏心底的一句话:“献给我的祖国!”

回国后,徐秉汉被分配到国防部第七研究院从事流体力学和结构力学的研究, 经历了时代的风风雨雨,科技报国之志始终不渝。后又转任702所结构研究室主任,在我国潜艇发展中的几次重大试验中,做了许多开创性的工作。他所领导的研究课题分别获得国家二等奖1项、三等奖2项。1997年,已经67岁的徐秉汉当选为中国工程院院士。

One night in early 2002, when people were getting ready to go to bed after a busy day, an overseas phone call from China came to somewhere in the United States. The person who answered the phone was an old man, his name was Xu Qinan. This is one of the protagonists mentioned many times in this article, a researcher at the 702 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Group. By this time, he had been retired for six years and had come to his son's house in the United States with his old wife Fang Zhifen to spend his old age in peace. 夜深人静,月亮升起来了,又大又圆。徐芑南夫妻俩一丝睡意也没有,还在你一言我一语悄声谈论着。方之芬毕业于华东理工学院,身上凝聚着科学家和家庭主妇的素养,这些年不但把家务全担当起来,还为丈夫的科研事业做了大量辅佐工作。大深度载人潜水器终于立项了,她同样欢欣鼓舞。只是丈夫的身体,令她充满了担忧！

刚说完这句,方之芬就后悔了,怎能“胡乱”联系呢?然而徐芑南非常理解相濡以沫半个世纪的妻子的心情,一句看似“不吉利”的话埋藏着多么深厚的爱啊!他拉过妻子的手,紧紧握着:“别担心,如果不让我参加,成天思虑这件事,可能更不利于身体。咱们把这个项目做好了,过世的新松老兄,还有许多前辈的在天之灵都会高兴的。再说,我不是有你吗！你就是我的幸运星啊!”

两天后,徐芑南和老伴说服儿子、媳妇帮助办好手续,放弃了安逸休闲的晚年生活,携手飞回国内,投身到7000米载人潜水器的研发与试验之中。

按说,国家“863计划”对于一个项目的总设计师,是有年龄要求的:60岁以内的在职工程技术人员。徐芑南也做好了当顾问的准备,只要能参加这个项目就行。可是,大家分析来分析去,感到他最合适。做总师要有两个基本素质:一是业务全面;二是协调能力强。这些徐芑南都具备。

Generally speaking, the "863 Program " has age requirements for the chief designer of a project: an in-service engineering and technical personnel should be under the age of 60. Xu Qinan was ready to serve as a consultant as long as he could participate in the project. However, after analyzing it thoroughly, everyone felt that he was the most suitable candidate. Being a chief designer requires two fundamental qualities: comprehensive expertise and strong coordination ability, both of which Xu Qinan possesses.

负责组织攻关的总体组组长刘峰,早在20世纪90年代初,就通过研发无人自治式潜水器结识了徐芑南,深为他的学识人品所折服。7000米载人潜水器重大专项刚一获批,刘峰首先想到了这位老专家,力促其担任总设计师。可徐总工已退休多年,事情操作起来并不容易。求贤若渴的刘峰便直接给时任所长都焕秋打电话,甚至半开玩笑半认真地说:“你们要是不把徐总请出来,这个项目就不知花落谁家了!”

The overall group leader responsible for organizing the research and development is Liu Feng. As early as the early 1990s, through the R&D of unmanned autonomous underwater vehicles, he got to know Xu Qinan and was deeply impressed by his knowledge and personalities. 有人说,徐芑南的人生高度,几乎可以用中国深海潜水器的下潜深度来衡量:600米、1000米、3000米.6000米、7000米!可以说,中国载人深潜每前进一步都有他的杰出贡献,他的梦想随着潜水器的下潜,不断深入更蓝更深的海域。

徐芑南是浙江宁波镇海人,1936年3月出生,正是“国破山河在,城春草木深”的年代。镇海地处甬江入海ロ一带,招宝山被称为“浙东第一山”,地势险要,为历代海防要地。鸦片战争时,钦差大臣裕谦监防督战,在此顽强地抵抗英国侵略军。最后,强敌攻破了镇海城防,裕谦投海殉国。这种有海无防、落后挨打的屈辱,深深印在徐芑南的心灵里,他从小立下了好好学习、将来科学报国的志向。

Xu Qinan was born in March 1936 in Zhenhai, Ningbo, Zhejiang province. Zhenhai is located in the Yuyao River estuary and is known for its strategic location as a coastal defense site throughout history. During the Opium War, the Qing Dynasty official Yuqian fought courageously against the British invasion in Zhenhai but eventually lost the battle and sacrificed himself by jumping into the sea. This humiliation of being defenseless and backward left a deep impression on Xu Qinan's mind since childhood.

1953年2月19日,毛泽东主席视察东海舰队“长江舰”,亲切接见年轻的水兵,合影留念,并挥笔写下了振奋人心的题词:“为了反对帝国主义的侵略,我们一定要建立强大的海军!”这年,刚满17岁的徐芑南正巧从上海南洋模范中学毕业,深受鼓舞,更加坚定了为保卫海疆当一名造船工程师的理想。他如愿考入了上海交通大学船舶系。

On February 19th, 1953, President Mao Zedong inspected the "Changjiang Ship" of the East Sea Fleet, warmly greeted young sailors, took a group photo and wrote an inspiring inscription: "To oppose imperialist aggression, we must establish a strong navy!" That year, Xu Qinan, who had just turned 17 and graduated from Shanghai Nanyang Model High School, was deeply inspired and became even more determined to become a shipbuilding engineer to defend the sea frontier. He was admitted to the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as he had wished.

四年半的大学生活,使徐芑南打下了扎实的理论功底。毕业时,他填报的分配志愿是船舶设计所或造船厂,一心想亲手为国家造大船。不料,却被分配到了中国船舶科学研究中心（702所前身）,他以为只是研究单位,找到管分配的老师想换一换。老师说:“研究也要设计,人家想去还去不了呢!你去了就知道了。”

During his four and a half years of university life, Xu Qinan has laid a solid theoretical foundation. Upon graduation, he applied to be assigned to a ship design institute or shipyard, hoping to help build large ships for the country. Unexpectedly, he was assigned to the China Shipbuilding Scientific Research Center (formerly known as the 702nd Institute), which he thought was only a research unit. He tried to change his assignment with the teacher in charge, but the teacher replied, "Research also involves design, and even if someone wants to go there, they can't. You will know when you get there."

“是吗,那我服从分配。”当时,我国海军建设和国防科研事业发展迅速,但基础薄弱、技术缺乏,急需科技攻关。来到船舶研究所后,徐芑南被派去做潜艇试验。本来他的毕业设计是“水面舰船”,这一下要改变方向了,可想到国家的需要,徐芑南毫无二话,由此他的事业就从水上潜入了水下。

"Is that so? Then I will comply with the assignment." At that time, China's naval construction and national defense scientific research were developing rapidly, but the foundation was weak and the technology was lacking, urgently needing scientific and technological breakthroughs. After arriving at the Ship Research Institute, Xu Qinan was assigned to do submarine testing. Originally, his graduation design was about "surface ships," but now he had to change direction. However, thinking of the country's needs, Xu Qinan didn't hesitate at all, and thus his career went to underwater.

20世纪80年代,美、法、俄、日先后研制出4000米至6500米级的深海载人潜水器。而我国海洋工程也在大力发展,徐芑南作为总设计师,带领中船重工702研究所等5个单位的技术骨干,成功完成了我国第一台单人常压潜水器和双功能常压潜水器的研制,达到当时国际同类产品的先进水平。

In the 1980s, the United States, France, Russia, and Japan successively developed manned submersibles capable of diving to depths of 4,000 to 6,500 meters. Meanwhile, China's marine engineering industry was also vigorously developing. 80年代末,徐芑南被任命为船舶总公司总设计师,提出了赶超国际先进水平,攻克具有光纤通信的缆控水下机器人技术方案。这就是以援救为主、兼顾海洋油气开发的大功率作业型缆控无人潜水器。1992年起,徐芑南受“863计划”自动化领域首席科学家蒋新松之邀,又担任了6000米自治水下机器人的总设计师,一举成功。“无人、载人,有缆、无缆……几乎所有种类的潜水器,我都做过了。唯一想做而没机会做的,就是大深度的载人深潜器。”徐芑南不无遗憾地说。

This led to the creation of a high-power operation type cable-controlled unmanned submersible that focused on rescue and also considered offshore oil and gas development. Starting from 1992, Xu was invited by Jiang Xinsong, the chief scientist of the "863 Program" in automation field, to be the chief designer of a self-governing underwater robot capable of diving 6,000 meters, which was successfully developed. "I have designed almost all types of submersibles, whether unmanned or manned, cable-controlled or not," Xu said with regret.

20世纪后半叶,深海技术被认为是与航天技术、核能利用技术并列的高新领域,而载人深潜器则是海洋开发和海洋技术发展的制高点。1996年,花甲之年的徐芑南心有不甘地办完了退休手续,以为自己为之奋斗一生的梦想就此搁浅了。然而,希望往往出现在拐角处。

三、有志男儿聚无锡

富有“太湖明珠”之美誉的无锡,位于长江三角洲平原腹地,北倚长江,南濒太湖,自古便是美丽富饶的鱼米之乡。如今,无锡更因是中国载人潜水器“蛟龙”号诞生地,而闻名遐迩。

Wuxi, known as the "Pearl of Taihu Lake", is located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta plain. Bordering the Yangtze River to the north and Taihu Lake to the south, it has been a beautiful and prosperous land of fish and rice since ancient times. Today, Wuxi is widely known as the birthplace of China's manned submersible "Jiaolong".

负责研制总装“蛟龙号”的中国船舶重工集团公司第702研究所,简称中船重ェ702所,就坐落在风光无限的太湖之滨一无锡。它依山傍水,逶迤绵延数华里,规模宏大,设施配套齐全,堪称船舶研究机构的远东之最。高大宏伟的科研大楼顶上树立着八个醒目的大字:兴船报国,创新超越。

2002年10月17日,一向宁静的?02所大院里热闹起来了,来自北京、沈阳、武汉、南京、杭州、广州、青岛等地的科学精英云集这里,参加一个具有里程碑意义的会议。

年富力强的刘峰第一个走上前来,从毛彬秘书长手中接过大红的聘书,紧紧握手,转过身来面对全场,迎来一片热烈而羡慕的掌声。可是,细心的人发现他只是笑了一下,很快就绷起了脸。他心里清楚,这不是表彰或获奖的证书,而是一纸“军令状”啊! Liu Feng, a vigorous young man, was the first to come forward. He took the big red appointment letter from Secretary General Mao Bin, shook hands firmly, turned to face the whole audience, and received a round of warm and envious applause. However, those who were observant noticed that he only smiled slightly and then his face became stern. 如此重要的大会,可以说是7000米载人潜水器重大专项启动仪式和誓师会（此时我们的国宝尚未被命名为“蛟龙号”）,为何放在无锡的一个研究所内举行呢?因为它是中国载人深潜器诞生的母体和大本营。 Why was such an important conference, which can be said to be the launching ceremony and oath-taking meeting of the 7000-meter manned submersible project (at this time our national treasure has not yet been named "Jiaolong"), held in a research institute in Wuxi? Because it is the birthplace and main base of China's manned deep submersible.

过去,我国研制的载人潜水器深度只有600米。从600米到7000米,这是一道很难跨越的天堑。根据设计方案,项目领导小组和总体组明确了分工:中船重工702所负责本体设计加工、总装联调,中科院沈自所负责自动化系统,中科院声学研究所负责水声通讯系统,中船重工701所负责水面支持系统,国家海洋局北海分局负责试验母船改装。此外还有中船重工725所、750所、6971厂,青岛海丽雅集团、河南新乡电池研究院等单位组成的攻关团队,开始了“蛟龙号”的研制之路。

其中,以徐芑南为总师的702所水下工程研究室,承担着潜水器本体成形和最后调试的重任。为此,702所专门组成了7000米载人潜水器领导小组和办公室。全所一盘棋,全力攻难关。徐芑南召集大家开宗明义:“这是一项系统工程,完成这样一项工程,在我看来最重要的是八个字:全局观点,统筹兼顾。”

The 702 Submarine Engineering Research Institute, led by Chief Engineer Xu Qin'an, is responsible for the formation and final debugging of the submersible. To this end, the institute has specially formed a leadership group and office for the manned submersible capable of diving to a depth of 7000 meters. With a unified strategy, the institute is fully committed to overcoming difficulties. Xu Qin'an convened everyone and stated: "This is a systematic engineering project. In my opinion, the most important thing to complete such a project is to have a global perspective and balanced consideration."

这八个字说来简单,实施起来难度却非常之大。徐总师从容应对,调动起自己全部的人生积累,与所内吴有生、徐秉汉等专家学者密切探讨,充分发挥集体智慧,严格遵循“设计理念、专家咨询、样机试验、实物考核”的研制程序,确保“下得去,能干活;上得来,保安全”的总体设计理念得到落实。

Although this word sounds simple, its implementation is extremely difficult. Chief Engineer Xu calmly responded, mobilizing all his life's accumulation, closely discussing with experts and scholars in the institute such as Wu Yousheng and Xu Binghan, fully utilizing collective wisdom, strictly following the development procedures of "design concept, expert consultation, prototype testing, physical examination", to ensure the overall design concept of "going down and working; coming up and being safe" is implemented.

当时最大的困难是缺人。702所的水下工程研究室正处于人才的“断档期”。研制“蛟龙号”,总师班子就需要好几个人:总设计师、副总设计师、总质量师……除此之外,深潜器的分系统有12个,每个都需要主任设计师。而且,由于国外技术封锁,从最初设计到最终海试,都得自己闯。这支研发团队怎样搭建呢?

The biggest difficulty at the time was the lack of personnel. The Underwater Engineering Research Room of the 702 Institute was in a "gap period" for talent. To develop the "Jiaolong", the chief engineer team needs several people: chief designer, deputy chief designer, chief quality officer... In addition to this, the submersible's subsystems have 12 parts, each requiring a chief designer. Moreover, due to foreign technology blockades, from initial design to final sea trials, they had to break through on their own. How to build this R&D team?

这次,徐芑南所花费的心血,比以前所任的总师要多上几倍。“总师重要的是做好顶层设计,但更重要的是在实战中带出一支年轻的队伍。”说这话时,徐芑南俨然是运筹帷幄、决胜千里的统帅了。他与第一副总师、702所副所长崔维成商量,将几位已经退休的老研究员请回来当顾问,又加紧培养年轻人,并让他们担当重任。

This time, Xu Qinan put in several times more effort than in previous chief engineer roles. "The most important thing for a chief engineer is to do a good job in top-level design, but more importantly, to bring out a young team in actual combat." When he said this, Xu Qinan was like a general planning strategies and winning battles from afar. He discussed with Cui Weicheng, the first deputy chief designer and deputy director of the 702 Institute, to invite several retired senior researchers back as consultants, speed up the training of young people, and let them take on important tasks.

第一副总设计师崔维成,也是一位富有传奇色彩的人物。他是江苏海门人,1986年毕业于清华大学工程力学系,保送进入702所读研究生,两个月之后即被派往英国布里斯托大学留学,获得博士学位后再做博士后研究。1993年,崔维成怀着一颗拳拳报国之心,谢绝了国外的高薪聘请,携妻轻装踏上归国的旅途。

The first deputy chief designer, Cui Weicheng, is also a person with a legendary story. He is from Haimen, Jiangsu. He graduated from the Department of Engineering Mechanics at Tsinghua University in 1986 and was recommended to the 702 Institute for postgraduate studies. Two months later, he was sent to the University of Bristol in the UK for further studies. After earning his doctorate and conducting postdoctoral research, in 1993, Cui Weicheng, with a patriotic heart, declined a high-paying job abroad and set out on his journey home with his wife, travelling light.

从小生活在海边,饿了就去海里捕鱼、热了就去海里游泳的经历,令崔维成了解到海洋里有着丰富的资源,立志献身海洋事业。自大学时代起,他在学业大进的同时,还特别崇拜李叔同,将其作为人生楷模:“他诚实守信、一诺千金的性格深深影响着我。”崔维成如是说。

Having lived by the sea since childhood, where he would catch fish when hungry and swim when hot, Cui Weicheng understands the vast resources that the ocean holds and is determined to dedicate himself to marine affairs. Since his university days, while making great strides academically, he particularly admired Li Shutong and took him as a role model in life: "His honest and trustworthy character, and his commitment to keeping his word, has deeply influenced me." Cui Weicheng said so.

回国后,他在中国船舶科学研究中心先后担任研究实验部主任、研究员、博士生导师。1999年4月被上海交通大学船舶与海洋工程学院聘为“长江学者”、教授、副院长。2002年,随着7000米载人潜水器的立项,崔维成被任命为702所所长,协助徐芑南总师攻坚克难。后来,他考虑到必须全身心投入研发中去,便毅然辞去了所长职务,担任副所长。

After returning to China, he successively served as the director of the research laboratory, researcher, and doctoral supervisor at the China Ship Science Research Center. In April 1999, he was appointed as the "Yangtze River Scholar", professor, and deputy dean by the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University. In 2002, with the approval of the 7000-meter manned submersible project, Cui Weicheng was appointed as the director of the 702 Institute, assisting Chief Engineer Xu Qinan in overcoming difficulties. Later, considering the need to devote himself fully to research and development, he resolutely resigned as director and assumed the role of deputy director.

不少朋友劝道:“没必要辞职嘛,安排好了工作,你照样可以专心做项目啊!”

Many friends advised, "There's no need to resign. Once you've arranged your work, you can still focus on the project!"

“不一样”崔维成坚决地摇头,“在其位就要谋其政。只当副职,就有时间更好地去研究、做试验。”

"It's not the same," Cui Weicheng shook his head resolutely, "When in a position, one should fulfill its responsibilities. By taking the deputy role, I will have more time to do research and experiments."

这就是科学家的胸怀,在“官本位”大有市场的当下,崔维成的选择令人十分敬佩。

This is the broad-mindedness of a scientist. At a time when "official-based" positions are highly sought after, Cui Weicheng's choice is admirable.

然而,开始研制7000米的载人潜水器,可谓是白手起家。整个本体组只有徐芑南在国外参观过载人潜水器,但也没有参加下潜。其他人还只是从照片上、视频资料里看到过,潜水器内部是什么样,没人知道。为了让大家首先有个基本了解,徐芑南听说浙江大学的陈鹰教授曾去日本访问,进入过“深海6500号”潜水器里边,便组织各系统的主任设计师们,如胡震、刘涛、叶聪、程斐等人前去拜访。

However, starting the development of a 7000-meter manned submersible was like starting from scratch. Only Xu Qinan in the whole body group had visited a manned submersible abroad, but he had not participated in the dive. The others had only seen it in photos and videos, and no one knew what the inside of the submersible looked like. In order to give everyone a basic understanding, Xu Qinan, having heard that Professor Chen Ying of Zhejiang University had visited Japan and entered the "Shinkai 6500" submersible, organized the chief designers of each system, such as Hu Zhen, Liu Tao, Ye Cong, Cheng Fei, and others, to visit.

由于大家都想多了解一些情况,各自准备了很多问题,有的用A4纸打印出来几大张,十几个人组团结队地奔赴西子湖畔,团团围住陈鹰教授,七嘴八舌地询问。开始,陈教授还“吓”了一跳,以为出了什么事情呢!继而他就释然了,为这些科学同行们的探求精神所感动,便尽自己所知道来了个“竹筒倒豆子”,和盘端出。

As everyone wanted to learn more about the situation, they each prepared many questions, some even printed them on several A4 papers. More than a dozen people went to West Lake in a group, surrounding Professor Chen Ying and asking questions in a flurry. At first, Professor Chen was "scared", thinking something had happened! Then he was relieved, touched by the spirit of inquiry of these scientific colleagues, and poured out everything he knew.

“那他们的巡航设计采用什么原理呢?”

“内部电力系统是如何分配的?”分工不同的设计师们最关心本专业信息,连珠炮似的发问。

"How is the internal power system distributed?" Designers of different departments were most interested in professional information and fired questions like machine guns.

“这个……说实话,当时我没想到咱们这么快也搞起来了,就没在潜器本身上多留心,只是专注于我的研究方向了。”

"Well... honestly, I didn't expect us to start so quickly, so I didn't pay much attention to the submersible itself, I just focused on my research."

“那请陈教授多讲讲印象深的观感吧!”

"Then please tell us more about your impressions, Professor Chen!"

“好好!”陈鹰结合着当时拍下的一些图片,尽量回忆介绍着……

尽管杭州之行收获不大,但还是给702所的访问者们一定的感性认识。回来后,他们便在徐芑南、崔维成等人的领导下,经过热烈而细致的讨论,分头考虑自己的方案,然后制作一个1：1钢架木制模型,将它平卧在那座红砖车间里。

Although the trip to Hangzhou did not yield much, it did give the visitors from the 702 Institute a understanding. After returning, under the leadership of Xu Qinan and Cui Weicheng, they held heated and detailed discussions, thought about their own plans separately, and then made a 1:1 steel frame wooden model, which they laid flat in the red brick workshop.

各个分系统的设计者们就围绕着这个“假家伙”,一点一点地摸索着、研讨着,有时皱着眉头瞅上半天,茶饭不思;有时陷入针锋相对的争论,面红耳赤。

The designers of each subsystem surrounded this "fake guy", exploring and discussing bit by bit, sometimes frowning for half a day, losing their appetites; sometimes falling into sharp debates, blushing with thick necks.

——据压强计算公式,水深达到7000米,压强会达到每平方厘米700千克,即每平方米要承受7000吨的压力。陆地上坚固的钢板,此时变得像纸片一样“软弱”,听任海水挤压折叠。什么样的材料,才能让“蛟龙”在水下成为一条真正的中国龙?

The sturdy steel plate on land becomes as "weak" as paper at this time, allowing the seawater to squeeze and fold it. What kind of material can make the "Jiaolong" a real Chinese dragon underwater?

——与太空空间站可利用太阳能不同,深潜器在海底只能靠自身携带的能源。浸泡在可以导电的海水中,潜水器的能量之源一一电池系统需承受的考验更为严苛。

--Unlike space stations that can use solar energy, deep submersibles can only rely on their own power source underwater. Immersed in conductive seawater, the energy source of the submersible - the battery system, faces even more stringent tests.

一一整个潜水器上的电线电缆多达几百根,有些故障只有在深海几千米的水压下オ会发生,等潜水器返回,电缆状态已经改变,很难再排查故障。怎么办?

-- There are hundreds of wires and cables on the whole submersible, some of which only malfunction under the pressure of several thousand meters deep in the sea. When the submersible returns, the state of the cables has changed, making it difficult to troubleshoot. What to do?

一块块难啃的技术骨头背后,是数不清的尝试、挫折、改进和提高。各路人马分工不分家,呕心沥血,精益求精,一点一点探求着,闯过了一道道难关。

Behind each difficult technical problem, there are countless attempts, setbacks, improvements, and enhancements. People from all walks of life work together, pouring their hearts and souls into it, constantly seeking, and overcoming one difficulty after another.

多年后,徐芑南回忆说:“这台潜水器有12个分系统,每个分系统都有自己的难点,每个问题都必须要解决,不能有短板。我们通过不断地仿真分析和模型实验,实现了!2个系统在技术上的无缝对接……” Years later, Xu Qinan recalled: "This submersible has 12 subsystems, each subsystem has its own difficulties, each problem must be solved, there can be no weak links. We achieved seamless integration of the 12 systems in technology through continuous simulation analysis and model experiments..."

为统筹组织好载人潜水器12个分系统的工作,他根据以往的工作经验,通过与其他技术、管理人员的研究实践,进一步提高了输入、输出、约束、支撑四要素分析法,协调和固化各分系统之间的技术接口和管理接口,将每一个分系统的时间节点、约束条件、支撑性能串连起来,制成表格,按表工作,大大提高了效率和质量。

To coordinate and organize the work of the 12 subsystems of the manned submersible, he improved the input-output-constraint-support four-element analysis method based on his previous work experience and through research practice with other technical and managerial staff, coordinating and solidifying the technical and management interfaces between each subsystem, and connecting the time nodes, constraint conditions, and support performance of each subsystem, making tables, and working according to the table, greatly improving efficiency and quality.

载人潜水器要想在海洋中自由上下,按常规就必须得有足够的能量来源,但这无疑会增加潜水器的重量,而增加重量必然会影响整个潜水器的技术指标。最后,设计师们选择了“无动力下潜上浮技术”。

For a manned submersible to freely move up and down in the ocean, it must have enough energy source by convention, but this will undoubtedly increase the weight of the submersible, and an increase in weight will inevitably affect the overall technical indicators of the submersible. In the end, the designers chose the "unpowered diving and floating technology".

徐芑南说:“我们在潜水器两侧配备4块压载铁,重量可根据不同深度与要求调整。在下潜过程中,压载铁使潜水器具备负浮力,按照一定速度下潜;当潜水器到达设定深度时,可操作抛弃其中2块压载铁,使潜水器基本处于零浮力状态,保持在这个深度上实现作业,包括航行、拍照、取样等;当任务完成,再抛弃另外2块压载铁,使潜水器具备正浮力,按照一定的速度上浮,到达水面。”

Xu Qinan said: "We have equipped the submersible with four ballast irons on both sides, the weight of which can be adjusted according to different depths and requirements. During the submerging process, the ballast irons provide the submersible with negative buoyancy, allowing it to descend at a certain speed; when the submersible reaches the set depth, we can operate to discard two of the ballast irons, making the submersible basically in a state of zero buoyancy and maintain operations at this depth, including navigation, photography, sampling, etc.; when the mission is completed, discard the other two ballast irons, making the submersible have positive buoyancy, and float at a certain speed to reach the surface."

按照这样的设计,“蛟龙号”载人潜水器最快下潜上浮速度是每分钟42米,也就是说到达7000米海底大约需要3个小时。然而,即使下去了,直接面对的就是复杂的海洋环境,7000米深海区,要求载人潜水器上的所有设备都必须承受相当于70兆帕的深海压力,并且耐得住海水的腐蚀。

According to this design, the fastest diving and floating speed of the "Jiaolong" manned submersible is 42 meters per minute, which means it takes about 3 hours to reach the seabed at 7000 meters. However, even if it goes down, it directly faces the complex ocean environment. In the 7000 meter deep sea area, all equipment on the manned submersible must withstand deep sea pressure equivalent to 70 gigapascals, and be resistant to seawater corrosion.

此外,还要有语音、文字和画面传输的技术,在深潜器内部配备完善的水声通信系统、水声定位系统和视频系统、自动化控制系统等等。这些都需要我们的“龙之队”精心设计、密切配合,才能获得成功。

In addition, there must be technology for voice, text, and image transmission. The interior of the deep submersible is equipped with a complete underwater communication system, underwater positioning system, video system, automatic control system, etc. All these require our "Dragon Team" to design carefully and cooperate closely to achieve success.

整整5年的时间里,四面八方的有志男儿汇聚无锡。除了702所本体组的人们天天忙碌在设计室、车间之外,还有中科院声学所、沈阳自动化所、北海分局等单位的科研人员,也一连几个月“蹲”在这里上班。以至于传达室的保安员、食堂里的炊事员,都以为他们已经调到本单位工作了,熟悉地叫着老张、小李的名字。

For a full five years, aspiring men from all directions gathered in Wuxi. In addition to the people from the 702 Institute who were busy in the design room and workshop every day, there were also researchers from the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Shenyang Automation Institute, the Beihai Branch, and others who "squat" here for several months to work. Even the security guards in the transmission room and the cooks in the canteen thought they had transferred to work in this unit, calling out familiar names like Old Zhang and Little Li.

就这样,按照中国特色的“土办法”“攻坚战”,中国载人深海潜水器一点一滴地成长壮大起来了……

In this way, according to the "local methods" and "hard battles" with Chinese characteristics, China's manned deep-sea submersible has grown bit by bit...

四、总体组牵动海内外

Overall group coordinates both domestic and international affairs.

兵分数路,另一条战线同样在紧锣密鼓、夜以继日……

One team is divided into several factions, while another is also working intensively day and night.

自从启动仪式举行过之后,设在北京的7000米载人潜水器总体组就开始了紧张而繁忙的工作。几位成员分工把口,齐头并进:徐芑南、崔维成负责潜水器本体设计和总装联调,吴崇建带领701所余建勋等人承担水面支持系统,张艾群、王晓辉在沈阳自动化所组织做潜器控制,朱维庆指挥学生朱敏等人研发水声通讯设备。

Since the launch ceremony was held, the Beijing-based 7000-meter manned submersible overall group has started intense and busy work. Several members divided their work and progressed together: Xu Qinan and Cui Weicheng were responsible for the design and overall adjustment of the submersible, Wu Chongjian led 701 Institute's Yu Jianxun and others to undertake the surface support system, Zhang Aiqun and Wang Xiaohui organized the control of the submersible at the Shenyang Automation Institute, and Zhu Weiqing commanded students like Zhu Min to develop underwater communication equipment.

组长刘峰则如同一部大片的总导演,总体通盘考虑,负责整个潜水器从设计制造、材料经费到培训人员、海试验收等工作,上对科技部、国家海洋局、大洋协会、重大专项领导小组,下对分布在全国的各路攻关大军,横向各有关单位的联系协调以及国外合作的谈判与签约。大家亲切地称他为“总舵主”。

The team leader Liu Feng is like the director of a blockbuster film, considering the overall situation and responsible for the entire submersible from design and manufacturing, materials and funds to training personnel, sea trials, etc. He manages upwards towards the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Oceanic Administration, the Ocean Association, and the major special project leadership team, downwards towards the various research and development teams distributed across the country, horizontally coordinating with related units and negotiating and signing contracts for foreign cooperation. Everyone affectionately calls him the "Chief Helmsman".

据不完全统计,参与研制单位达到了103个,涉及北国、江南的研究所、高校、公司企业等等,分为四大系统,也就相当于四个方面军。一是潜水器本体研发试验;二是水面支持系统一包括母船改造与布放设备;三是潜航员系统一这是载人潜水器重要的一环,从招收到培训;四是应用系统一潜水器研发出来,要考虑怎样去应用,由谁管理、维护、经营。

According to incomplete statistics, 103 units participated in the development, involving research institutes, universities, and companies in both the north and south of the country. They are divided into four major systems, which is equivalent to four fronts. The first is the development and testing of the submersible body; the second is the surface support system, including the modification of the mother ship and the deployment of equipment; the third is the submariner system - this is an important part of the manned submersible, from recruitment to training; the fourth is the application system - once the submersible is developed, consideration must be given to how it will be used, who will manage, maintain, and operate it.

四大系统缺一不可,只有把它们有机地衔接起来,才能使载人潜水器真正发挥作用,而这正是总体组的重任。每一项工作里都饱含着太多的酸甜苦辣、喜怒哀乐。下面,笔者根据采访讲述几个小故事,从中可了解他们遇到的困难和工作状态。

All four systems are indispensable, and only by organically linking them can the manned submersible truly play its role. This is precisely the heavy responsibility of the overall group. Each piece of work contains too many emotions - sweetness, bitterness, joy, and sadness. Below, the author will tell a few small stories based on interviews, which can help understand the difficulties they encountered and their working conditions.

1•酒的魔力

1• The Magic of Alcohol

“干杯!尊敬的院长。中国有句古话:生意不成情意在,我们还是朋友,请干杯!”

"Cheers! Dear Dean. There is an old Chinese saying: if the business fails, the friendship remains, we are still friends, cheers!"

“好好,话是这么说,但是我们都很忙,不是专程来喝酒的……”

"Well, that's true, but we're all very busy and didn't come here just to drink."

北京一座星级酒店包间里,正在举行一场别有意味的晚宴。一方是中国大洋协会、7000米载人潜水器总体组的成员。有大洋办副主任、总体组长刘峰、中方代理商等人。另一方是以俄罗斯圣彼得堡克雷洛夫船舶研究院院长拉维奥罗夫院士、副院长彼拉也夫教授为首的俄方人员。尽管中方上的是国内最好的高度白酒,主陪副陪们也在不断地敬酒,可本来善饮的俄罗斯人总是打不起精神来,只是低着头喝闷酒。 事情起因于一场不欢而散的谈判。

Although the Chinese side served the best domestic high-alcohol liquor, and the main and deputy hosts kept toasting, the Russians, who are usually good drinkers, couldn't perk up and just drank sullenly. The cause of this was a negotiation that ended in disagreement.

我们的载人潜水器走的是一条自主设计、集成创新的道路,站在世界高科技的前沿上,到国际市场上购买材料、委托加工,完成自己的设计理念。这样就比等待国内工艺材料都达到先进水平再做快得多。这是当今各国科技界惯用的一种方式。其中,载人球体需用钛合金制造,强度大,比重轻,耐高压耐腐蚀。经过反复权衡对比,总体组决定请具有高超工艺和成功经验的俄罗斯克雷洛夫船舶研究院加工制造。为此,以刘峰为团长的大洋协会代表团数次前往俄罗斯访问、洽谈,终于在价格、标准、工期等方面有些眉目了,便邀请他们前来北京最后敲定、签字。

Our manned submersible follows a path of independent design and integrated innovation. Standing on the frontier of world high technology, we go to the international market to purchase materials and commission processing to realize our own design ideas. This is much faster than waiting for domestic process materials to reach advanced levels. This is a common practice in the scientific and technological circles of various countries today. Among them, the manned sphere needs to be made of titanium alloy, which is strong, lightweight, and resistant to high pressure and corrosion. After repeated comparisons and considerations, the overall team decided to invite the Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute in Russia, which has superb craftsmanship and successful experience, to process and manufacture it. For this, the China Ocean Association delegation led by Liu Feng made several visits to Russia for discussions and negotiations, and finally saw some progress in terms of price, standards, and schedule. They invited them to Beijing to finalize and sign the agreement.

由于历史和现实的原因,俄方专家愿意与中方合作,共同研制开发深海载人潜水器。他们一行7人,包括两位院长高高兴兴地来到中国,经过一周的友好磋商,就所有合作细节比如付款方式、交货日期等都达成了协议。大洋协会办公室决定搞一场正规而热烈的签字仪式,大造声势,为建造中国深海载人潜水器开一个好头。不料,计划报到有关领导部门,却卡壳了:“立项还在走最后程序,先不要签。”

Due to historical and current reasons, Russian experts are willing to cooperate with China to jointly develop deep-sea manned submersibles. The Russian team, including two deans, happily arrived in China. After a week of friendly consultations, they reached an agreement on all cooperation details such as payment methods and delivery dates. The Ocean Association's office decided to hold a formal and enthusiastic signing ceremony, making a big splash and getting off to a good start for the construction of China's deep-sea manned submersible. However, when they tried to report the plan to the relevant leadership departments, they encountered a roadblock: "The project is still going through the final procedures, so do not sign yet."

一句话,让具体参加谈判的总体组很为难:技术上都已经谈妥了,总不能在国际合作中失去信誉吧?可又不能告诉俄方实情,只好采取拖的办法,请他们去参观或者休息。一天过去了,两天过去了,还是没有回音。人家看出是中方出了问题,在一次例会上,拉维奥罗夫院长一摔笔记本,脸色不悦地说:“不谈了,我这个院长,国内还有许多工作呢,没有时间在这里空等。马上订明天的机票回国。”

This single sentence put the overall team, who had participated in the negotiations, in a difficult situation: they had already agreed on the technical aspects, and they couldn't lose credibility in international cooperation, could they? But they couldn't tell the Russian side the truth, so they had to adopt a delaying tactic, inviting them to go sightseeing or rest. A day passed, then two days, and still, there was no response. The Russian side realized that there was a problem on the Chinese side, and at a regular meeting, Dean Laviorov slammed his notebook down and said discontentedly: "I won't talk anymore. As a dean, I have a lot of work to do at home. I don't have time to wait here. Book tomorrow's flight back to Russia."

稀里哗啦,几位俄罗斯人拉开椅子,起身要走。这可使中方人员有点着急了,因为好不容易谈好了合同,如果不能及时签字生效,前景难以预料,那就可能影响载人球舱的制造。刘峰与在座的同事们互相看了看,不甘心就此作罢,说:“对于这种情况,我们十分遗憾也很抱歉。你们明天要走,今晚我们请各位吃饭,也算是饯行吧。”

Several Russian personnel pulled out their chairs and stood up, making the Chinese personnel a little anxious. They had finally negotiated the contract, and if it couldn't be signed and become effective in time, the future prospects would be unpredictable, which could affect the manufacturing of the manned spacecraft. Liu Feng and his colleagues looked at each other and were unwilling to give up. They said, "We're very sorry about this situation. You'll be leaving tomorrow, so tonight we invite you to dinner as a farewell."

An ostensibly enthusiastic but actually awkward banquet began. Liu Feng and the Chinese agents, as hosts, kept encouraging the guests to drink more: "Come on, have another drink. As the Chinese saying goes, 'no fight, no deal.' Although we didn't sign the contract today, we had sincere negotiations, and from now on, we are good friends!"

“是啊,是啊。来,干杯!”俄罗斯人大多有酒量,也喜欢中国的白酒,看到陪同人员如此客气,慢慢缓解了情绪,脸色多云转晴,一杯一杯地干了起来。为了表示主人的诚意,几位中方人员不管平时酒量如何,也都“舍命陪君子”。

"Yes, yes. Come, cheers!" Russians are usually good drinkers and they like Chinese liquor. Seeing the accompanying personnel being so polite, their mood gradually eased, and they started drinking glass after glass. To show the sincerity of the host, the Chinese personnel, regardless of their usual drinking capacity, all decided to continue.

酒过三巡,菜过五味,气氛开始热闹了,刘峰斟满了一杯白酒,悄悄将院长"拉到一边说:“我个人非常敬佩院长先生的学识,再敬您一杯,瞧,干了！”一仰脖子,满满一杯酒热辣辣地灌了下去,由于已经喝了不少了,加上急了点,眼泪差点激出来。

After several rounds of drinks and various dishes, the atmosphere started to heat up. Liu Feng filled a glass of liquor, quietly pulled the dean aside, and said: "I personally admire your knowledge, Dean. Let me toast to you again. Look, bottoms up!" He downed the full glass of liquor, which was hot and spicy. He had already drunk quite a bit, and with the rush, tears nearly sprang from his eyes.

In the end, both sides drank heartily and stumbled out of the restaurant. The Russian personnel stayed at the hotel, while Liu Feng and the agent saw off the guests. They supported each other and stumbled out of the door, unable to find their own cars and had to take a taxi home. The driver even waited in the parking lot until dawn.

幸亏这一顿黑天昏地的“大酒”,最后挽留住俄方副院长彼拉也夫又等了三天,程序终于走完了,传来一声福音:“合同可以签了！”

事不宜迟,刘峰马上组织有关人员加班加点做好准备工作,连夜举行简朴的签字仪式。中俄双方在这份来之不易的合同上郑重地签了字。时间已到凌晨一点多了,在场的人员没有一丝睡意,在响亮的掌声中,大家开心地举起香槟酒,互致祝贺,共同度过了一个难忘的不眠之夜。

Without delay, Liu Feng immediately organized the relevant personnel to work overtime and prepare for a simple signing ceremony overnight. 2,紧急出国

Emergency Departures

深海潜水器除了钛合金球舱之外,还需要一种优质的浮力材料,使其在水中具有超强的浮力,便于完成海底作业后迅速上浮。经过在国际市场上反复比较、遴选,总体组选中美国一家公司生产的浮力材料。它由硼硅酸盐原料经高科技加工而成,具有质轻、导热低、强度高、化学稳定性良好等优点。

In addition to the titanium alloy sphere, the deep-sea submersible also needs a high-quality buoyancy material to provide it with strong buoyancy in the water, making it easy to quickly float to the surface after completing underwater operations. After repeated comparisons and selections in the international market, the team chose a buoyancy material produced by a US company. This material, made from borosilicate raw materials through high-tech processing, has the advantages of being lightweight, having low thermal conductivity, high strength, and good chemical stability.

不料,这种浮力材料却没有通过美国政府出口许可审查。载人潜水器研发虽然作为民用科研项目立项,中国大洋协会是项目的最终用户和业主,也承诺不用于军事目的、不转让第三方,但由于其应用范围的敏感性,还是引起了美国官方的猜忌。作为折中和让步,美方出口审查小组同意将浮力材料的性能降低一个等级后出售给中方。

Unexpectedly, this buoyancy material did not pass the US government's export license review. Although the development of the manned submersible was set up as a civil scientific research project, and the China Ocean Association was the end-user and owner of the project, promising not to use it for military purposes or transfer it to a third party, the sensitivity of its range of application still aroused suspicion from the US officials. As a compromise and concession, the US export review team agreed to sell the buoyancy material to China after reducing its performance by one level.

那家公司负责人找到中方,双手一摊:“没办法,我们必须服从政府的决定。”无论中方如何解释,对方只是耸耸肩,表示爱莫能助。

The head of the company approached the Chinese side and shrugged, saying "There's nothing we can do. We must comply with **'s decision." Despite the Chinese side's attempts to explain, they only shrugged, indicating helplessness.

为了不影响大局,中方决定接受这一现实,适当增加浮力材料,但这对潜水器整体设计产生了巨大影响:增加材料,意味着增加潜水器的体积和整体重量。由此,潜水器的总体布置、设计图纸必须重新再来,布放回收系统的起吊能力和母船的改装,也都必须另行复核论证……

In order not to affect the overall situation, China decided to accept this reality and appropriately increase the amount of buoyancy material, but this had a significant impact on the overall design of the submersible: adding material meant increasing the volume and overall weight of the submersible. Therefore, the overall layout of the submersible and the design drawings had to be redone, and the lifting capacity of the recovery system and the modification of the mother ship had to be re-evaluated...

没说的,大家憋着一口气,想方设法,逐一克服!

一波刚平,一波又起。根据合同约定,这种材料需运到美国公司设在英国的工厂,按照中国的设计方案加工成型。合同生效后,浮力材料公司分两批运往英国加工。第一批顺利完成交货运抵上海,而第二批在希斯罗机场发运时却遇到了麻烦:英国海关决定在已经加工成型的浮力材料上打孔取样,测定实际比重。如此,几箱已经加工成型的浮力材料被扣押在伦敦希斯罗机场……

Just as one problem was resolved, another arose. According to the contract, this material needed to be transported to the US company's factory in the UK and processed according to China's design. After the contract came into effect, the buoyancy material company shipped the material to the UK in two batches for processing. The first batch was successfully delivered and arrived in Shanghai, but the second batch ran into trouble when it was dispatched from Heathrow Airport: The UK customs decided to drill holes in the already processed buoyancy material to take samples and determine the actual specific gravity. As a result, several boxes of already processed buoyancy materials were detained at London's Heathrow Airport...

消息传到北京,总体组长刘峰坐不住了,会不会再节外生枝?他立即上报主管领导,得到一句话:马上出国解决,尽快促成英方按照合同规定的期限交货、发运。

When the news reached Beijing, Liu Feng, the head of the overall team, couldn't sit still. Would there be more problems? He immediately reported to his superiors and received a directive: "Go abroad immediately to resolve the issue and expedite the UK side to deliver and dispatch according to the contract deadline."

十万火急,刘峰用最短的时间办妥手续飞往伦敦,立即找到中国驻英大使馆科技参赞,说明了情况：“请赶快帮助想个办法,就这么扣在机场,可真耽误大事了！”

Liu Feng hastily arranged his trip to London. He immediately found the Science and Technology Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in the UK and explained the situation: "Please help find a solution as soon as possible, the material being detained at the airport is causing a significant delay in our project."

“别着急,先坐下喝口水。”参赞一边倒水一边思考,“如果进入了检查程序,是不能取消的。但我们可以抓紧协调,请海关方面加快速度。”

"Don't worry, have a seat and take a sip of water first," said the counselor as he poured water and pondered, “If the inspection procedure has begun, it cannot be cancelled. But we can push for the customs to speed up the process."

情况摸清楚了:浮力材料是按照合同规定生产加工的,比重在工厂经过检验是合格的。英国海关开展的是出关前复查,程序正当,无可厚非。但是,对中方用户来讲,这种把关来得有些迟了。即便在中国驻英大使馆的积极沟通协调下,检测和审核过程还是耽搁了近两个月的时间,オ予以放行。

After investigation, it was clear that the buoyancy material was produced and processed according to the contract. Its specific gravity had passed inspection in the factory. The UK customs were conducting a re-inspection before export, a process which was legitimate and unobjectionable. However, this was a bit too late for the Chinese user Even with the active communication and coordination of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the testing and review process still delayed nearly two months before it was released.

五、海试第一潜:“下不去”与“联不上”

她全名为中国南海,周边被中国大陆、中国台湾岛、菲律宾群岛及中南半岛所环绕,因位于中国大陆南边而得名,也称南中国海。这里是中国最深、最大、最纯净的海,面积356万平方千米,约等于我国渤海、黄海和东海总面积的3倍,仅次于南太平洋的珊瑚海和印度洋的阿拉伯海,是世界第三大陆缘海。

Its full name is the China South Sea, surrounded by the Chinese mainland, Taiwan Island, the Philippines archipelago, and the Indochina Peninsula. Named for its location to the south of the Chinese mainland, it's also known as the South China Sea. It is China's deepest, largest, and purest sea, covering an area of 3.56 million square kilometers, roughly equal to three times the combined area of China's Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, and East Sea, making it the third largest marginal sea in the world, only after the Coral Sea in the South Pacific and the Arabian Sea in the Indian Ocean.

Of this, about 2.1 million square kilometers within the nine-dash line are under China's jurisdiction, with an average depth of 1212 meters, reaching a maximum depth of 5567 meters. 中国第一台深海载人潜水器的海试场就选在这里。2009年8月初,试验母船“向阳红09”船载着海试团队和精心打造的“和谐号”,出长江,入东海,在绿华山锚地避让“莫拉克”台风,同时做好海试文件宣贯、组织制度建设、机械设备检查、操作规程演练和队员抢险救生等各种准备工作,一路乘风破浪,驶到了南海三亚以南某海域。

The sea trial of China's first deep-sea manned submersible was chosen to be conducted here. In early August 2009, the test mother ship "Xiangyanghong 09", carrying the sea trial team and the carefully crafted "Harmony", left the Yangtze River, entered the East China Sea, and took shelter from Typhoon Morakot at the Lvhuashan anchorage. They carried out various preparations such as sea trial document publicity, organizational system construction, mechanical equipment inspection, operation procedure drills, and team member rescue and life-saving drills. They braved the wind and waves and sailed to a certain area south of Sanya in the South China Sea.

按照预先确定的试验原则:由浅入深,逐步推进。载人潜水器海试划分为!000米、3000米、5000米和7000米级深度四个阶段,其中第一阶段又包括50米、300米和!000米三个小阶段。每一步都有详细的试验计划,阶段试验结束后召开专家会议,对试验结果进行评估,海试领导小组再根据专家意见集体研究决定下一阶段的任务。

According to the pre-determined test principle: starting from shallow and gradually advancing. The sea trials of the manned submersible were divided into four stages of depth: 1000 meters, 3000 meters, 5000 meters, and 7000 meters. Each stage was further divided into smaller stages of 50 meters, 300 meters, and 1000 meters. Every step had a detailed test plan. After each stage, expert meetings were held to evaluate the test results, and the sea trial leadership group decided on the tasks for the next stage based on the opinions of the experts.

50米级海试主要在A!区,这里也就作为中国载人深潜器的摇篮,走进了流芳百世的当代科技史。

The 50-meter sea trial mainly took place in Zone A1, which thus became the cradle of China's manned deep-diving device, making its mark in contemporary scientific history.

8月15日,一个特殊的日子一1945年8月15日,正是日本宣布投降的那天。现场指挥部决定在这一天,在三亚锚地南25海里处,实施水面布放试验,这也是整个海试的第一潜,意义非同寻常。

August 15th was a special day. On this day in 1945, Japan had announced its surrender. The on-site command decided to carry out a surface deployment test on this day, 25 nautical miles south of the Sanya anchorage. This was also the first dive of the entire sea trial, holding significant meaning.

试验目标是:复核潜水器与母船布放回收系统之间的工作匹配和协调性,完善潜水器从甲板到水面布放和从水面回收至甲板操作规程,积累操作经验;水声通信机和定位声呐的调试;潜水器各系统和设备在海上的功能复核。潜航员初步得到海上操控潜水器的实践,锻炼各部门、岗位的协同配合能力,通过实践修订、完善作业规程,提高现场指挥部指挥控制能力等。

The test objectives were: to review the working compatibility and coordination between the submersible and the mother ship's deployment and recovery system, perfect the operation procedures of the submersible from the deck to the water surface and from the water surface back to the deck, accumulate operational experience; calibrate the underwater acoustic communication system and positioning sonar; review the functionality of the submersible's various systems and equipment at sea. The divers initially gained practical experience in controlling the submersible at sea, exercised the collaborative capabilities of various departments and positions, revised and improved work procedures through practice, and enhanced the command and control capabilities of the on-site command center.

天蒙蒙亮,水天线刚刚分开,“向九”船的后甲板上就忙碌起来。水面支持系统、担负解挂缆的“蛙人”小分队和各个保障岗位的海试队员们,按照各自的分工和平时的演练,各负其责、有条不紊地工作着。上午8点30分,两位年轻人一潜航员唐嘉陵、声学所的技术人员张东升先后进舱。

At the break of dawn, the rear deck of the "Xiangjiu" ship was bustling. The water surface support system, the "frogman" squad responsible for unhooking the cable, and the sea trial members at various support positions were working methodically according to their roles and usual drills. At 8:30 am, two young people, diver Tang Jialing and acoustician Zhang Dongsheng, entered the cabin one after another.

紧接着,载人潜水器第一副总设计师、702研究所副所长崔维成沿着小梯下到舱内。他兼任现场指挥部成员,负责潜水器本体组织领导,从一开始研制就明确表态:“作为设计者,我们有信心先下潜。徐总师年纪大了,这就是我义不容辞的责任!”所以,他胸有成竹,一点儿也不紧张。早上船医傅晋领按惯例给他测量血压:80/120,十分正常。

Next, Cui Weicheng, the first deputy chief designer of the manned submersible and the deputy director of the 702 Institute, descended into the cabin along a small ladder. He also served as a member of the on-site command center, responsible for leading the organization of the submersible. From the beginning of development, he made his stance clear: "As designers, we have the confidence to dive first. Chief Designer Xu is getting older, so this is my undeniable responsibility!" Therefore, he was calm and not at all nervous. In the morning, as per routine, the ship's doctor, Fu Jinling, measured his blood pressure: 80/120, perfectly normal.

8点55分,主驾驶唐嘉陵熟练地检查完各种设备,一切正常,向指挥部做了报告。随着一声“布放”的口令,机声隆隆,轨道车后移、A架前摆、主吊缆下放并与潜器对接、起吊、副钩接上、A架向后摆动。突然,A架摆到位了,潜水器吊离船体,却发现副钩无法脱开,反复操作几次仍不能脱钩。负责操作A形架的?01所大个子工程师余建勋,脸上冒汗了,本来就白晳的面庞更显灰白。

At 8:55 am, the main pilot, Tang Jialing, skillfully checked all the equipment, everything was normal, and he reported to the command center. With a command of "deployment", the machine roared, the track car moved backward, the A-frame swung forward, the main hoist cable was lowered and connected with the submersible, hoisted, the auxiliary hook was connected, and the A-frame swung backward. Suddenly, the A-frame was in place, the submersible was hoisted away from the ship, but it was found that the auxiliary hook could not be released, and it still couldn't be unhooked after several operations. The engineer responsible for operating the A-frame, a tall man from the 01 Institute named Yu Jianxun, was sweating, and his originally pale face became even paler.

潜水器舱内,三名试航人员被吊在空中,迟迟下不了海,他们满腹狐疑,尤其两位年轻人,面面相觑。还是崔所长沉着冷静,安慰说:“你们不要紧张,紧张也没用,就把紧张留给外面的同志吧。我们该干什么就干什么。”

Inside the submersible cabin, the three crew members were hanging in the air, unable to descend into the sea for a long time, full of doubts, especially the two young men, who looked at each other. Still, Director Cui remained calm and reassured: "Don't worry, there's no use in being nervous, leave the nerves to our comrades outside. We just do what we need to do."

小唐和小张脸色缓和了,相互讨论起潜水器操作规程来。这时,现场指挥部命令“收回潜水器”。A架把他们放到轨道车上带回甲板。技术人员迅速检查,发现是起吊时主缆收得不到位,两只副钩只挂上一只,由于作用在一只副钩上的力过大,从而使受力的副钩不能解脱。 Both Tang and Zhang relaxed, and they began to discuss the submersible operating procedures. 六、惊心动魄的深海警报 VI. The Thrilling Deep-sea Alarm

2010年7月8日,“向九”船从三亚向3000米试验海区航渡,准备冲击新的深度和解决海试中出现的问题。因为世界海洋平均深度为3682米,科技部社发司领导要求载人潜水器本年度试验应超过这个深度。而原先确定的下潜点只有3500米,指挥部决定向东南方向移动4海里,坐标点为北纬18度35分,东经!16度28分。 On July 8, 2010, the "Xiangjiu" ship sailed from Sanya to the 3000-meter test sea area, ready to challenge a new depth and solve the problems that arose during the sea trials. 令人啼笑皆非的是:就像前几次一样,当上浮到1000米左右深度时,报警自动消失,接地检测指针又回到了0.07以下。潜水器返回母船后,深潜部门长胡震立即组织电力与配电小组的工程师程斐、杨申申、王磊等人进行全面检查。拆开潜水器,一点一点搜索故障点,并且邀请了专家咨询组一起深入分析,把可能想到的地方全部检查了一遍,还是没有找到真正原因。万般无奈之下,只能采取缩小故障范围的措施,把最受怀疑的电源至应急液压源一路直接接入舱内,若再出现异常,就依次断掉相应的线路。 It was laughable and frustrating: just like the previous times, when the submersible ascended to a depth of around 1000 meters, the alarm automatically disappeared, and the grounding detection pointer returned to below 0.07. 当天晚上,潜水器总师组召开扩大会议,分析问题,商议解决措施。现实就这样严峻地摆在面前:要解决接地报警问题,也就是电路绝缘问题,在母船甲板上的检修手段非常有限,必须下潜!经过充分讨论,各系统的主任设计师们纷纷表态:“我们的设备不怕压！下吧!” That night, the submersible's chief engineer team held an extended meeting to analyze the problem and discuss solutions. The reality was starkly laid out: to solve the grounding alarm problem, i.e., the circuit insulation issue, the repair means on the deck of the mother ship were extremely limited. They had to dive! 最后,总师组形成了统一意见:在保证安全的前提下,也就是说只要接地数值不超过1.2毫安,就大胆下潜,让深度把问题彻底压出来。现场指挥部与专家组认真研究后,认为可行,决定继续下潜试验。 In the end, the chief engineer team formed a unanimous opinion: under the premise of ensuring safety, which means as long as the grounding value does not exceed 1.2 milliamps, they should boldly dive and let the depth squeeze out the problem thoroughly. After careful study by the on-site command department and the expert group, they believed it was feasible and decided to continue the deep-sea trials.

不料,情况更加严重:在第35潜次海试中,当潜水器下到了40多米后,接地值就开始升高,一路下潜一路报警,到300米时竟高达1.5毫安。再往下潜到了800多米,指针又回落到了0.9。看来故障点极不稳定。为了安全起见,指挥部要求他们立即上浮返航。Unexpectedly, the situation worsened: in the 35th sea trial, when the submersible descended to over 40 meters, the grounding value started to rise, and the alarm was triggered all the way down. At 300 meters, it reached a shocking 1.5 milliamps. When it further descended to over 800 meters, the pointer fell back to 0.9. It seemed the fault point was extremely unstable. 执行此次海试的于教授,与主驾驶叶聪、试航员杨波商量:这样上去,还是找不到具体原因,我们只有再深入一步,在水下采取检测措施,才能把这一顽固的故障“逼出水面”。再说,通过这么多次的深潜,已经深刻感觉到潜水器性能安全可靠。只要密切观察,做好各种准备,安全是有保障的。是啊,不入虎穴,焉得虎子。同意!继续下潜!三人把手紧紧握在了一起。 The professor in charge of this sea trial, along with the main pilot Ye Cong and the test pilot Yang Bo, discussed: if they ascend like this, they still won't find the specific reason. 苍天不负有心人。他们终于揪住了这只时隐时现的“幽灵”尾巴。“蛟龙号”顺利返回母船后,于教授、叶聪向维护人员反映了水下观察到的问题。电力与配电小组连夜检查,发现在一根32芯线电缆的插头根部有电火花烧蚀的微弱痕迹,进一步检查,锁定了多次出现的副蓄电池泄露报警原因是水密插头进水。两根导线在平时由绝缘胶皮相隔,相安无事,可当进入深海1500米以下,压力增大,将导线紧紧压在一起,细微毛刺造成短路报警。而当上浮到水面时,压力减小,两根导线分开,则一切又正常了。 Heaven rewards the diligent. They finally caught the tail of this "phantom" that had been playing hide and seek. After "Jiaolong" safely returned to the mother ship, Professor Yu and Ye Cong reported the underwater observations to the maintenance personnel. But when they ascended to the surface, the pressure decreased, the two wires separated, and everything returned to normal.

哈！众里寻他千百度,蓦然回首,那人却在灯火阑珊处。找到原因,对症下药,彻底解决。指挥部决定,各有关部门连夜排除故障、检查系统软件、修改作业流程。当晚,现场指挥部、潜水器准备室、声学控制室、后甲板、灯光下,到处都是忙碌的人影,直到天边亮出了鱼肚白…… It was a proverbial case of finding the answer right under their noses after a thousand attempts. Now that they had found the cause, they could apply the appropriate solution and solve the issue thoroughly. The command department decided that all relevant departments would work overnight to eliminate the fault, check the system software, and modify the work process. 七、五星红旗在海底飘扬

VII. The Five-Starred Red Flag Fluttering at the Seabed

2010年7月12日,又是一个值得中国深潜人自豪的日子。

July 12, 2010, was another day for the Chinese deep-sea divers to take pride in.

经过一夜检查排故,维修保养,解决了长期困扰潜水器接地检测报警的元凶,进而又更换了全新的蓄电池箱。全体海试队员信心大增。现场指挥部决定乘胜前进,今天进行第36次下潜,海试任务是:在南海海底插上中华人民共和国国旗、布放“龙宫三号”标志物、使用热液取样器提取海底水样、接地检测复核等。试航员为叶聪、唐嘉陵、刘开周。

After an overnight check and troubleshooting, the maintenance and upkeep resolved the long-standing issue with the battery leakage alarm on the submersible, and a brand-new battery compartment was installed. The confidence of the sea trial team was greatly boosted. The on-site command center decided to seize the momentum and proceed with the 36th dive. The mission was to plant the flag of the People's Republic of China on the seabed of the South China Sea, deploy the "Dragon Palace No. 3" marker, use the thermal fluid sampler to extract seafloor water samples, and perform grounding checks. The test pilots were Ye Cong, Tang Jialing, and Liu Kaizhou.

原计划9时30分开始试验,但在8时对潜水器下潜前综合检查,安装轻外壳时,责任心很强的技工顾秋亮一他是702所的老师傅,技术高超,曾获“江苏省技术能手”称号,突然发现备用蓄电池箱周围几个螺栓有油迹,进一步检查,原来是蓄电池箱出现了一条细微的裂缝。胡震立即带领配电组更换,直到中午12点オ完成。

The experiment was originally scheduled to start at 9:30 am, but during the comprehensive check of the submersible before the dive at 8 o'clock, Gu Qiuliang, a conscientious technician, discovered oil traces around several bolts of the backup battery compartment. Further inspection revealed a fine crack in the battery compartment. Hu Zhen immediately led the power distribution group to replace it, which was completed by noon.

“怎么样?胡总,今天还行吗?”指挥部有些担心。

“How it was going? Director Hu.” the command center was worried.

“没问题!我们保证把一切都准备好了。”胡震斩钉截铁地回答。

"No problem! We've made sure everything is prepared." Hu Zhen answered decisively.

“好,13时各就各位!”在指挥部号令下,各部门紧张有序地操作起来。

"Good, everyone in place at 1 o'clock!" Under the command center's order, all departments started their operations in an orderly and tense manner.

13时15分,“蛟龙号”布放入水,建立水声通信后下潜。13时48分,潜水深度1000米,之后一路“顺风”，2000米.3000米.3682米,15时!6分到达3757.31米,平了7月9日的纪录,安然坐底。

At 1:15 pm, "Jiaolong" was deployed into the water, and communication was established underwater before diving. At 1:48, the submersible reached a depth of 1,000 meters, then smoothly descended to 2,000 meters, 3,000 meters, and 3,682 meters. At 15:16, it reached 3,757.31 meters, leveling the record set on July 9th, and successfully landed on the seabed.

接下来,唐嘉陵、刘开周两人负责观察、巡视,主驾驶叶聪操作机械手,准备布放海底标志物了……

在深海里留下自己的纪念性标志物,是载人潜水器的一项特殊任务。早在去年300米海区试验成功在即时,总指挥刘峰就想到了这一点,找到临时党委书记刘心成说:“下一次试验,潜水器要坐底,咱们能不能做一个标志性物品,用机械手放入试验区海底,它将永久证明我们试验的真实性。”

Leaving a commemorative marker in the deep sea is a special task for manned submersibles. As early as when the test in the 300-meter sea area was about to succeed last year, Commander Liu Feng thought of this and found the temporary party committee secretary Liu Xinsheng, saying: "In the next test, the submersible will land on the seabed. Can we make a symbolic item and put it on the seabed of the test area with a mechanical arm? It will permanently prove the authenticity of our test."

“这个想法好,我完全同意。走,咱们找船长商量商量。”他们说着来到船长房间,向窦永林说明了意图。

"That's a good idea, I fully agree. Let's go and discuss it with the captain." They went to the captain's room and explained their intention to Dou Yonglin.

窦船长是个明白人,立即找来轮机长刘军、副支队长陆会胜、于教授一同研究。大家考虑到保留时间尽量长,在水中要有稳定性。刘心成提出用3毫米钢板加工一个倒T字形构件,上面印上“中国载人深潜试验留念2009.9”字样。陆会胜建议:为了使潜水器机械手顺利布放,可在构件上方系一段浮力缆。同时为了保证在水下目视清晰度,底色涂成白色,字体用红色。方案确定,由船长组织加工。

Captain Dou, a clear-headed person, immediately found Chief Engineer Liu Jun, Deputy Commander Lu Hui, and Professor Yu to discuss together. They considered making the marker as durable and stable in the water as possible. Liu Xinsheng suggested making an inverted T-shaped component out of 3 mm steel plate, with "Commemoration of China's Manned Deep Diving Test 2009.9" engraved on it. Lu Hui suggested that a buoyancy cable could be tied to the upper part of the component to facilitate the submersible's mechanical arm in deployment. At the same time, to ensure clear visibility underwater, the background color should be painted white and the font red. The plan was decided, and the captain organized the processing.

一个多小时工夫,在轮机工作间内完成了构件加工,水手长李斌组织人除锈,刷两度防锈漆,两度白油漆。李玉波大副和刘洪俭水手负责刻字。他们技能娴熟,干得既快又漂亮。刘峰总指挥看后夸奖道:“船员中能人真多,没有干不成的事。”印好字后油漆还不干,很多人就来拍照,因为一旦放入海底,除非潜航员,一般人永远见不着了。

In a little over an hour, the component was manufactured in the engine room. Bosun Li Bin organized the crew to remove rust and apply two layers of anti-rust paint and white oil paint. First Officer Li Yubo and Sailor Liu Hongjian were responsible for engraving. They worked quickly and skillfully. After seeing their work, Commander Liu Feng praised, "There are many talented people among the crew. There's nothing they can't accomplish." Even before the paint dried, many people came to take pictures, knowing that once it was placed on the seabed, only the submersible crew would ever see it again.

2009年9月20日上午进行第!8次下潜试验。一大早,于教授在胡震主任等协助下,小心翼翼地把标志物放入潜水器前下方采样篮中,正常下潜了。9时30分,潜航员报告:在292米坐底成功。北纬18度59.985分、东经!12度37.225分,操纵机械手成功布放了中国载人深潜试验标志物。

On the morning of September 20, 2009, the 18th dive test was carried out. Early in the morning, with the assistance of Director Hu Zhen and others, Professor Yu carefully placed the marker in the sampling basket at the front bottom of the submersible, and the normal dive began. At 9:30, the divers reported: successful landing at 292 meters. At 18.985 degrees north latitude and 112.225 degrees east longitude, the Chinese manned deep-sea trial marker was successfully deployed using the mechanical arm.

时光转到2010年,3000米级海试又开始了,中船重工?02所早就准备好了海底标志物:一面旗杆高50厘米的国旗,一个直径30厘米的八角形盘子,上面印有五星红旗图案和“中国载人深潜海试纪念:2010年”字样,起名“龙宫三号”（前期已经把“龙宫一号”和“龙宫二号”布放到了300米试验海区）,两项均由耐高压防腐蚀的钛合金制成。

Fast forward to 2010, the 3000-meter level sea trial began again, and CSIC 702 Institute had already prepared the seabed markers: a 50 cm high flagpole with the national flag, and an octagonal plate with a diameter of 30 cm, engraved with the Five-Starred Red Flag and the words "Commemoration of China's Manned Deep-sea Trial: 2010", named "Dragon Palace No. 3" (the "Dragon Palace No. 1" and "Dragon Palace No. 2" had already been deployed in the 300-meter trial area). Both items were made of titanium alloy, which is resistant to high pressure and corrosion.

历史性的一刻终于到来了,叶聪一边稳定住潜水器,一边用机械手从舱外采样箱里取出了那面钛合金制的小型五星红旗,小心翼翼而又郑重其事地高举着伸出去,选择了一块平坦的地方,牢牢地插在南中国海的海底!在明亮的舱外灯照射下,鲜红的国旗矗立在透明的海水里,永远伸展着,随着洋流轻轻摆动,俨然迎风飘扬在万里晴空!

The historical moment finally arrived. Ye Cong, while stabilizing the submersible, carefully and solemnly took out the small Five-Starred Red Flag made of titanium alloy from the external sampling box with the mechanical arm, held it up high, and chose a flat area to firmly plant it on the seabed of the South China Sea! Under the bright external cabin lights, the bright red national flag stood upright in the transparent sea water, eternally unfurled, gently swaying with the ocean current, as if fluttering in the clear sky!

三位潜航员久久地凝望着那面挺立在深海的五星红旗,心潮澎湃,热泪盈眶,感到无比的光荣和自豪。那一刻,他们如同战场上的旗手一样,冲破重重枪林弹雨的拦阻,将胜利的旗帜插上刚刚攻克的制高点;又仿佛天安门前的国旗班,迈着整齐雄壮的正步,迎着清爽的晨风,把凝聚着神州儿女热血红心的国旗,与霞光万道的太阳一起升起来。

The three divers stared at the Five-Starred Red Flag standing in the deep sea for a long time, their hearts surging with emotion, their eyes filled with tears, feeling extremely honored and proud. At that moment, they felt like flag bearers on a battlefield, breaking through the heavy gunfire and planting the flag of victory on the newly captured high ground; or like the flag-raising squad in front of Tiananmen Square, marching in neat and strong steps, facing the refreshing morning breeze, raising the national flag that embodies the passionate hearts of the Chinese people, together with the morning sun radiating thousands of rays.

这是中华人民共和国的国旗第一次出现在南海海底,意义非同寻常!

八、深海与太空的对话 Dialogue Between Deep Sea and Space

全中国乃至世界瞩目的一天终于到来了！

The day the whole of China, and indeed the world, had been waiting for finally arrived!

公元2012年6月24日,在浩瀚的西北太平洋马里亚纳海沟海域,东经!41度58.50分、北纬!0度59.50分,中国“蛟龙号”载人潜水器开始正式冲击7000米深度。早晨6时30分,大雨如注,海浪翻飞,现场指挥部和临时党委在功勋卓著的试验母船——“向阳红09”船值勤甲板上,冒雨举行试航员出征仪式。

On June 24, 2012, in the vast Mariana Trench area of the northwest Pacific Ocean, at 41°58.50' E longitude and 0°59.50' N latitude, China's "Jiaolong" manned submersible officially began to attempt a depth of 7,000 meters. At 6:30 in the morning, amidst pouring rain and turbulent waves, the onsite command center and temporary Party committee held a ceremony on the duty deck of the "Xiangyanghong 09", the heroic mother ship of the trials, to send off the test pilots.

夜幕还没有完全退去,明晃晃的甲板大灯亮如白昼,一条写有“中国载人潜水器7000米海试试航员出征仪式”的大红横幅格外光彩夺目。从2002年立项起,直至如今2012年第四年海试,这句“7000米”早已耳熟能详了,经历过了种种风风雨雨、坎坎坷坷,闯过了一道道难关,终于将在今天成为现实了!

The night hadn't completely faded, and the dazzling deck lights were as bright as day. A large red banner with the words "Departure ceremony of the test pilots for the 7,000-meter sea trial of the Chinese manned submersible" was extraordinarily eye-catching. From the inception of the project in 2002, to the fourth year of sea trials in 2012, the figure "7,000 meters" had long been familiar, having weathered various storms and setbacks, and overcome numerous challenges. Today, it would finally become a reality!

指挥部和临时党委的所有成员,身穿蓝色的海试队服,头戴安全帽,整齐列队,久久注视着那横幅上的十几个大字,感慨万千,神情激动。三位重任在肩的试航员一“蛟龙号”主任设计师、首席试航员叶聪,中科学沈阳自动化研究所副研究员刘开周、中科院声学研究所副研究员杨波,站在队前,左胸前的五星红旗标志分外醒目,映照得他们年轻的脸庞一片红光。

All members of the command center and temporary Party committee, dressed in blue sea trial uniforms and wearing safety helmets, stood in neat rows, gazing at the dozen or so big characters on the banner for a long time, filled with emotion and excitement. The three test pilots—Ye Cong, chief designer and chief test pilot of the "Jiaolong", Liu Kaizhou, associate researcher at the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yang Bo, associate researcher at the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—stood at the front of the team. 三位试航员健步登上维护平台依次进舱。主驾驶叶聪最后一个进去,特意回身招了一下手,显示出一定要完成任务的信心和决心。雨虽然很大,但所有送行人员没有撤离现场,各个岗位继续按照部署开展工作,人们的衣服淋透了,内心里却充满了阳光。

The three test pilots ascended the maintenance platform and entered the cabin one by one. Chief pilot Ye Cong was the last one to enter, and he deliberately turned around and waved, showing his determination and resolve to complete the mission. Although the rain was heavy, all those who were seeing them off didn't leave the scene. Each post continued to carry out its work as planned. Their clothes were soaked, but their hearts were filled with sunshine.

7时整,指挥部宣布“各就各位”。轨道车移动、拆除限位销、挂主缆、起吊、A架外摆、挂龙头缆、布放入水、解缆等动作一气呵成。潜水器逐渐漂离母船尾部。不远处,“海洋六号”船在担负警戒任务。

At 7:00, the command center announced "Everyone to their posts". The movements of the track vehicle, the removal of the limit pin, the hoisting of the main cable, the lifting, the swinging of the A-frame, the laying of the dragon head cable, the deployment in the water, the release of the cable, etc. were all carried out in one breath. The submersible gradually drifted away from the stern of the mother ship. Not far away, the "Haiyang No. 6" ship was on guard duty.

2014年9月1日,北京市汇文第一小学举行隆重的开学典礼。同时,以助力中国少年梦“深海探秘,太空揽月”为主题,开展了一次实实在在又非常有意义的科学普及和爱国主义教育活动。

曾经与我一起参加“蛟龙号”2014—2015年试验性航次第一航段科考的张凯亮,就是这所学校的科技老师。他为孩子们讲述“蛟龙号”下潜的故事,并拿出潜航员带到深海的试验品,引导孩子们进行探究“海水的压力有多大”的实验研究。同时,展示了曾随“蛟龙号”一起下潜的区旗、校旗,还将学校与海洋局合作,“大手拉小手”科普教育的情景,用年代尺的形式做成寄满学生科技梦想的10米长卷,请中国首批潜航员叶聪、唐嘉陵、傅文韬在上面签了字。

Meanwhile, he shows the flags of the district and the school that have dived with the "Jiaolong", and also invites the first batch of Chinese submersibles, Ye Cong, Tang Jialing, and Fu Wentao, to sign on the 10-meter long scroll filled with students' scientific dreams, which is made in the form of a timeline and represents the cooperation between the school and the Ocean Bureau in "hand in hand" science education.

最令孩子们高兴的是,“蛟龙号”载人潜水器海试和科考队总指挥刘峰叔叔,也应邀来到了学校,与师生们见面座谈。他是中国“蛟龙号”从立项到打造成功的功臣之一,十几年来,他与团队一起一心一意为国家干成了两件大事,一是积极奔走,协调研发了“蛟龙号”;二是从潜水器业务化应用出发,促成了设立国家深海基地。如今,曾经为“蛟龙号”付出心血的中国大洋协会办公室主任金建オ退休了,刘峰又被任命为大洋办主任,工作十分繁忙,一般没有精力参加额外的活动了。

What made the children most happy was that Uncle Liu Feng, the overall commander of the sea trial and scientific research team of the "Jiaolong" manned submersible, was also invited to the school to meet and talk with teachers and students. He is one of the heroes who made the Chinese "Jiaolong" successful from the project establishment. Over the past decade or so, he and his team have done two big things for the country with all their heart: one is to actively run around and coordinate the development of the "Jiaolong"; the other is to promote the establishment of the national deep-sea base from the application of the submersible. Now, Jin Jian, the former director of the China Ocean Association Office who once devoted himself to the "Jiaolong", has retired, and Liu Feng has been appointed as the director of the Ocean Office. His work is very busy, and he generally does not have the energy to participate in additional activities.

然而,当他接到汇文第一小学的正式邀请时,还是欣然答应:“好,我再忙,也要抽时间去跟孩子们见个面。海洋教育要从娃娃抓起嘛!”他和共同完成了四年海试的副总指挥李向阳一起,按时来到了学校,受到了校长、老师和同学们的热烈欢迎。

In the tidy and bright classroom, the primary school student representatives tied red scarves for Uncles Liu Feng and Li Xiangyang, held their hands high over their heads, and saluted the Young Pioneers.
