As novas canções do grupo reforçam um sortido apetitoso à base de rock dançável, de tempero veraneante e amigo íntimo da pista de dança. Se parte do público ainda não tinha digerido os novos temas tão bem como os antigos, nem por isso deixou de provar a boa disposição contagiante da banda. E desconfiamos que caso o primeiro álbum tivesse tido mais destaque, talvez a actuação mantivesse sempre o nível - de festa de arromba, ou quase - que sentimos em singles como "Paris" ou "Skeleton Boy". Ed Macfarlane, o vocalista, está longe de ser um rapaz-esqueleto, mas não será por falta de exercício, pelo menos em palco: foi ele o principal agitador do público, festejando e cantando entre os espectadores das primeiras filas. Depois de "Screamadelica", essa combinação voltou a ser a tónica de vários discos da banda britnica, mas o grupo liderado por Bobby Gillespie nunca voltou a mostrar uma sintonia tão oportuna - pelo menos do princípio ao fim de ,tljdesign.com/wdesign.html, um disco - com o som do seu tempo.

Esse zeitgeist de inícios dos anos 90, bem vincado pela euforia rave, teve ontem direito a revisitação no Palco Super Bock. É justo. Se tantas bandas de rock dançável recentes devem tanto a .

No Alive!11 ouviu-se muito bem, sobretudo quando os Primal Scream apostaram em temas que ainda são os maiores trunfos da sua discografia. Outro foi "Higher Than the Sun", que reforçou a carga onírica ao viajar da dream pop a ambientes de rave e surgiu numa versão particularmente longa, até porque teve ligação directa à remistura de tom mais dub que também se ouve em "Screamadelica". Mas o momento mais alucinógenio foi, arriscaríamos, "Come Together", talvez o maior hino dos Primal Scream e uma fusão irresistível entre soul e house. "Agora parece um concerto de rock cristão", comentava alguém entre o público ao contemplar o transe colectivo. E sim, se o rock cristão se atirasse a uma trip psicadélica não andaria longe disto. No altar, o pastor Gillespie não se cansou de apelar à dança dos fiéis, empenho que se prolongou por toda a banda e foi reforçado pelas imagens rodopiantes e garridas de três ecrãs gigantes.

Depois da subida aos céus, particularmente conseguida nestas três canções, os Primal Scream desceram à terra com o rock escorreito e despachado de "Country Girl" ou "Rocks", que não andou muito longe do que se ouviu na mesma noite no Palco Optimus. Foi esse, aliás, o único senão do concerto: se à mesma hora, ou pouco depois, tocavam os Xutos Pontapés ou Iggy Pop plus the Stooges noutro espaço, gostaríamos que o lado mais electrónico dos Primal Scream tivesse saído quase sempre a ganhar no palco "alternativo" (que assim não o foi inteiramente). Seguimos a sugestão, fomos também e descobrimos que "isto" era Da Chick, cujo caldeirão de hip-hop, funk ou soul conteve a poção mágica para espevitar algumas dezenas de espectadores numa tarde até então calma. Se o appear remetia para Kelis, a atitude e algumas canções podiam ser a de uma eventual filha (ou, por esta altura, talvez neta) de Neneh Cherry, mas com a receita devidamente actualizada: não faltaram doses industriais de electro, vertente maximal, que abriram caminho para uma noite onde o ritmo vai dominar este palco (afinal, a madrugada fecha com Buraka Som Sistema e Diplo). A actuação foi literalmente concentrada, não indo além de vinte minutos e ficando com o título, pelo menos até agora, de concerto mais curto do Alive!11. Mas pelo menos a descarga de energia por segundo impôs respeito, ganhando pontos junto do público quando samplou clássicos de James Brown ou Snap!. Nada mau para uma festa immediately after hours à hora do lanche.
