Disclaimer, legal notice and consent to anonymous use of contributions

If you use the platform as a reader, no data is collected by the platform itself.

If you want to edit anything on this wiki (a wiki is an open source platform with structured contents), please register first by clicking on "register" on the top right corner, and then on "request one". After registration, you may want to learn how to use this Wiki.

This platform provides free material for university courses for the benefit of students. It is based on the idea of solidarity: Students are invited to use anonymized material of earlier students (only if a contributor wants his/her own name to be mentioned, the names appear). By joining the platform and using material of earlier students and instructors, the students agree that later students and instructors are also allowed to use their material. Of course the participation in the platform is voluntary. The usage is limited to non-commercial, academic use including textbooks and statistical analysis. For registration it is necessary to read and to agree to the declaration of consent to anonymous use of contributions according to the Data Protection Regulation of the EU. Every contributor can opt out of using this platform and use alternative means (Teams, email etc.) instead. The platform is located on servers within the EU and protected by the firewall of Bochum University, so the contents of this platform can not be found in the internet via search engines like Google, Bing etc., it can only be accessed if you have been invited or provided with a direct link, normally by your instructor.

This wiki platform is subject to changes, since it may be edited by students and the instructor any time. The authors of this platform are not responsible or liable for the accuracy of content of third parties linked to from this website.

If corrections or possibilities of enhancement are brought to the instructor's attention, he will try to apply them.

By contributing to the website, the instructor and each student declares his/her consent, that his/her contributions can be used anonymously for updated versions of courses, for thematically related other courses and as teaching material by the teacher or as part of a paedagogical or research discourse as long as an amelioration or enrichment of teaching / research results is intended.

Full student names are only given if teacher and students jointly agree on it, e.g. when a wiki article is written for the purpose of publication and the name is accessible. Anyone who has provided his/her name earlier but does not want his/her contributions to be part of this paedagogical or scholarly discourse and/or publication has the right to withdraw his/her consent any time and the instructor then removes the respective name on all current websites.

The platform is only a voluntary addition to courses, every student has the right not to become part of the solidarity group by not registering or not contributing. In this case, the student should be so fair also not to benefit from other students' contributions by using material of this platform. Every student can ask for alternative communication channels, to submit his/her course contributions via email etc.

If the instructor discovers vandalism, he is entitled to undo the vandalism and to block the vandalist's access to the platform.

Publication projects and co-authorship

For collaborative publication projects (books, edited volumes, critical editions), contributors — including students and co-authors — transfer their rights to the contributions made on this platform to the platform operator, Dr. Martin Woesler. The platform operator can decide to credit co-authors by name if they want, provided they have made a substantive contribution to the publication. A formal right to be named as co-author arises only when a co-author has been responsible for at least 5% lasting contribution of a publication project. The platform is dynamic in nature: contributions by any co-author may be edited, revised, or reverted by other co-authors or editors at any time.
