オークリー The fine line between fashion and portrait photog

The fine line between fashion and portrait photography

In my perspective there is more than a fine line between portrait and fashion photography. Each has their オークリー own unique niche in the world of photography. The vast difference between them is truly philosophical. Both are visual art forms and each fills a particular need. However, the essence which is caught in the camera's eye is very divergent.

Although, they each use similar techniques and equipment they are different art forms. Fashion photography deals with トリーバーチ 財布 the exterior areas where humanity lives. Whether it is clothing, make up, headwear, footwear, etc it is all about outward appearances. Models are used essentially as live mannequins. I am not attempting to demean fashion photography but describe its reality. The job the photographer is tasked with is capturing how a particular product may appear to another human. Even when well know personalities are posed with a product what is being attempted is the capture of a product's essence and not that of the individual. The photographer is being paid to make a product more desirable increasing its marketability which in turn will lead to クロエ バッグ increased sales for the company sponsoring the shoot.

Fashion photography is also プラダ multifaceted with many subniches. It is an art form and a photographer is challenged to use their creative skills just as they would be in any other area of photography. It is fast paced and very demanding particularly when dealing with today's fashions. Photographers need to manage lighting, models, products, support staff etc in a very short window of opportunity. Fashion photographers need to be adept at managing the shoot or they may never receive another assignment.

Projects dealing with fashion photography can be widespread from today's fashion to attempting the capture of fashions from the past for a historical piece. However, the main concern is always the state of the fashion and not シャネル 財布 the person modeling the fashion. To me this is where the great レイバン divide exists between fashion and portrait photography.

Portrait photography can range from an impromptu shot トリーバーチ to one where there is studio lighting, wardrobe, makeup and set poses. However, the emphasis is always on capturing the essence of the individual. In a studio setting portrait photography can mimic fashion photography but the base philosophy of the shoot is quite different. The exterior flourishes are used to complement the essence of the person that the photographer is attempting to capture. Portrait photography in some cases can near that of photojournalism for example in the documenting the life of a coal miner. The stark realism of coal dust adhering to facial sweat and blackened gnarled hands where there are no added studio effects. Or, perhaps the life of a homeless person in ragged clothes curled in a doorway attempting オークリー サングラス to alleviate the cold of winter. For these types of portraits no added wardrobe is required.

Portrait photography and fashion photography both a visual art forms using the same techniques and equipment ニューバランス and yet very シャネル different when viewed. A fine line, I think not. 相关的主题文章:
