 Ancient Chinese's Wisdom in Water Conservancy Projects

Abstract:

 The Yellow River and Yangtze River basins were the political and economic centers for the Ancient Chinese Government in the Middle Plain throughout the ages. The frequent and costly floods had a great impact on China's agricultural economy, livelihood and even social stability, and caused great pain to the Chinese nation for many times. The ancient Chinese wisdom is contained in the saying "He who governs a country well must focus on water management".
 The water management today is no longer confined to one place or one country. There is still a long way to go to properly understand the water situation and future trends, objectively analyse the relationship between water and nature and human social development, and from the perspective of national public affairs management, this paper seriously sums up the experience and lessons of history, scientific planning and comprehensive management. 
 This paper will be divided into four main parts: 
 1.Brief introduction of famous water conservancy events in ancient China; 
 2.Analysis of the wisdom behind these events; 
 3.Enlightenment for the governance of modern China society; 
 4.References
