My name is Liu Yi, and I go by Zer in English. I am pursuing my second year of graduate studies in English Interpreting at Hunan Normal University. My goal is to leverage my skills to bridge language barriers and contribute to global dialogue in a meaningful way, which is an ambitious endeavor that will require continuous effort and dedication. Outside of my academic pursuits, I have a strong passion for sports. I enjoy watching football matches, particularly the Bundesliga, and I’m a big fan of DFB. This semester, I’m excited to take Professor Martin Woesler’s Chinese Language and Culture course, and I look forward to gaining a lot from it.

Me: My dorm has a “positive corner” where we go to meditate. We created it to clear our minds and feel more positive afterward.

Nov 7, 2024 - Today I talked with Mira about the Bayern vs. Benfica UEFA Champions League match.
Me: I want to talk about the Bayern vs. Benfica match today.
Mira: Sure! What did you think of the game?
Me: I set my alarm for 3:45 a.m. to catch it live at 4! Bayern had a few missed chances in the first half, and it was such a tense game because I was afraid that if Bayern couldn't break through, Benfica might score a wonder goal to take the lead. Missing those three points would've been really disappointing, but thankfully, Musiala's header finally broke the tie and secured the win.
Mira: Wow, that's dedication! It sounds like it was a nerve-racking game, especially with so much at stake.
Me: Exactly. This was such an important three points for Bayern. I'm happy they got the win and hope they can keep this momentum going.
Mira: I can tell you're a true fan!

Me: Recently, I've had a lot on my to-do list, so I'd like to start my day earlier to focus on study and work in the morning. It feels like the quiet morning hours are the best time to get things done.
Mira: That makes sense! Mornings can be so productive. Have you tried anything to make this new routine stick?
Me: I'm starting with a set bedtime and using an alarm to wake up consistently. It's been challenging, but I hope it becomes a natural habit soon.
Mira: That's a great approach. I'm sure you'll feel the benefits soon.
Nov 9, 2024 - Today I talked with Mira about Stranger Things.
Me: I want to talk about Stranger Things today!
Mira: Perfect! Are you re-watching it, or just getting started?
Me: I'm actually re-watching it. November 6 was International Stranger Things Day, and they released the first teaser for Season 5! It made me really want to watch it again, so I started over today.
Mira: That sounds exciting! What's it like watching it a second time?
Me: I'm noticing so much more this time around. The first time, I watched it more casually and just thought it was great, but now I'm picking up on details I missed. The emotions and relationships are so much clearer, and it feels even more worth watching.
