= = Both scholars, British scholar Peter Newmark and German scholar Katharina Reiss have put forward the theory of text type translation, and their proposed translation theories have an important position in the research field. This paper compares the text types of both and interprets the two theories in order to deepen the understanding of their translation theories, and at the same time hopes to gain new perspectives on translation theory research and translation strategies through comparison.= =
