 Chinese poetry plays an extremely important role in the difficult task of spreading Chinese culture. there are many debates about the strategies of domestication and foreignization in its translation. In this paper, the two strategies are weighed from the perspective of skopos theory, and the differences in the use of translation strategies are analyzed in the light of different translation purposes and translation audiences.

The important relationship between language and culture is self-evident, culture is the environment of language activities, and culture is reflected and transmitted through language.Translation and language are inseparable. Therefore, based on this background, this paper focuses on exploring whether there are differences in translation between two or more cultures under different cultural backgrounds.I will take Eastern and Western cultures as the starting point and demonstrate my views by analyzing their cultural differences and the history of translation.
