We check together the offers by the Chinese government to apply for translation cost funding and select a book we would like to apply for funding to translate.

We check the projects which are currently already running and assign parts of the translation to each student. The Educational Office last time has issued certificates for the participating students to have "assisted with translating".

Heute stellen wir das Zertifikat vor, dass man für ein Übersetzungsprojekt erhalten kann. Falls die Studierenden Interesse haben, können wir auch dieses Semester ein solches Übersetzungsprojekt machen. Ansprechpartnerin: Frau Deng?

Gemeinsam entschieden: Der Lehrer beantragt einmal ein kleines Uebersetzungprojekt (Xu Zechens Kurzgeschichtensammlung "Nordpeking") mit ca. 110.000 Woertern, so dass jeder Student etwa 4.000 Woerter zu uebersetzen hat. Wenn wir den Text erhalten werden, schauen wir einmal ob es machbar ist.

Außerdem gehen wir die kurzen praktischen Übersetzungs-Übungen gemeinsam durch: Übersetzungsprojekte

We have several things we can do today, let's jointly decide which ones we do:

1. Homework of the students (everybody translates a short passage of Rich_DE).

2. Powerpoint by the teacher about history of translation theories.

3. Application for Xu Zechen translation project.

4. Test to translate a new translation project with AI. Examples:

Result from last time: Machine Translation from Chinese to German is best with Doubao so far.

1. Check on the translation paragraphs of each student Rich_DE_01

2. Check the translation of the File:Book Good Chinese.doc by all students using Doubao: Good_DE.
