Gallo was indeed robbed! Robert Gallo was the most cited scientist with over 36000 citations to his name between 1981 and 1990. Most of the articles printed about Gallo are an attack on his persona and frankly it doesn't make a difference in the scientific arena. There are other 'mad' scientists who have been duly rewarded. With regard to the 'stealing' of the french virus, he was cleared of any wrong doing and the press should put that to rest.
