Mailtribune.com - Talent

The city of Talent was originally called Fort Wagner, named for the first recorded settler,Going with the flow MailTribune.com, Jacob Wagner, who arrived in 1852, the city?s Web site says. It was established in 1854 to protect settlers and travelers from Native Americans living in the Bear Creek Valley. No attacks ever took place so the fort became a center for social and religious activities. In 1889, A.P. Talent platted a townsite and named it Talent. The town was incorporated November 2, 1910.
