No references- this is just a list of sweeping generalizations with no sources cited. It is very biased, no alternative interpretations of the positions are given. No specific examples. This reads like a stereotypical Western view of the "typical" downtrodden, abused and subservient oriental woman. Without any sources, and without dissenting views, this is just a statement of opinion, not history.

There are records of women who were educated, there are records of their names. Where, in the writings of Confucius, does it say that women are inferior and not fit to be educated? What is your source for the statement that men were encouraged to sleep around? Why then, did they bother to get married (multiple times, in many cases)?

You have taken some very definite positions, but, without citations, it is just a listing of your opinions. I would like to see you cite your sources and defend your expressed views. To be balanced, however, you also need to present the other side of the arguments. What was the opinion of those "inside"? How did/do the Chinese view the role/position of women- in each dynasty? Did it change? What about gender? was this the "man"'s view or the "woman"'s?

This article needs a lot of work.Dekeo 03:07, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
