1. Make classics easily available
In terms of this, I think Weread, “微信阅读” in Chinese, a good application for shared reading and note taking, set a good example, as it provides a sea of quality books whose copyrights have been ensured, with many classics included. For example, you can read the top traditional Chinese classic works, A Dream in Red Mansions, a revised version with some reviews appended for readers’ better understanding. Besides, people can read whatever they want on this app after finishing some easy tasks, if not at all. In this way, highbrow classics can also be down-to-earth and widely accessible for ordinary people whose purses fail to support their reading interest.
2. Depend on mass media for marketing
There is no doubt that currently people will spend more time on mass media, especially when staying in an isolated environment for a long time due to the annoying pandemic. As a result, the adapted TV series, movies and even short videos that can attract a great amount of audience all go a long way towards popularizing the classics. In fact, many play fans will turn to the original works for appreciation and aftertaste. Reading classics again, therefore, will be no longer a deliberate guide that works a little, but active participation by the public.

People these days treat the classics like fragile Faberge eggs only to be admired from afar. They rarely talk about the classics and why they still matter. Here I have some ideas about how to make people read classics again: 1.Pick a book you would actually enjoy - this sounds counterintuitive, but I’ve found that a lot of people pick classics based only on its fame. Figure out your taste and pick a classic that you’re more likely to enjoy. 2.Take it Slow - Look, language evolves. What you’re reading in a classic is different from what you’d read today. Slow down and think a bit. For real toughies, look up the plot summary beforehand so you know what’s happening. 3.Look up some history - get some sense of what’s happening with a history lesson. It doesn’t need to be much, just a scan of the first few paragraph of a Wikipedia article of the French Revolution before attempting A Tale of Two Cities. If you can, get an annotated edition—yeah, that means footnotes—so you don’t even need that Wikipedia page. (Thanks Holly Root-Gutteridge for the suggestion.) 4.Keep the general plot in mind - certain classics meander. Reasons for this varies from the contemporaneous preferences (Victorian writers liked to describe things to death) to the trend of serialized publishing in the 19th century. In such instances, it can be hard to keep track of what the real story is. Be warned. 5.Another trick is to get people started early on. When people is at his childhood, his imagination will be stronger than adult's, and they also have much spare time to focous on reading a classic.

First, we should classify the classic works. With the development of the times, the classic standards are not invariable. Some works were classics in the background of the times at that time, but not necessarily now. For example, the book Classic of Mountains and Seas was regarded as a classic in the past, but I don’t think it is a classic. Our current science has made great progress, and the superstition about ghosts and gods has been greatly reduced. Therefore, from the perspective of modern people, the strange creatures described in the book do not conform to the laws of nature. And it used to be regarded as a classic because people lacked scientific knowledge at that time. Similarly, works now regarded as classics may be overthrown in the future. Second, the classic works will be included in the compulsory reading list of middle school students. After classifying the classic works, relevant departments should arrange students of different grades to read different classic works based on students' age and cognitive level, and use these contents as examination contents to cultivate the habit of reading classics from an early age. Finally, the state gives relevant subsidy policies. As far as the currently recognized classic works are concerned, such as the four famous works, these books are composed of multiple volumes, and the purchase cost is high. The state can subsidize the purchase of classics to provide people with more opportunities to read classics.--Chen Luyao (talk) 08:20, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

With the development of the Internet, the information environment of human beings has changed dramatically.Since they are exposed to more and more information every day, many people think that as long as the Internet search can not find information, so this obviously belongs to take it lightly. Moreover, this complacency inevitably leads to a growing lack of awareness or grasp of the wisdom and capabilities you already possess.
In the boundless world, countless kinds of information converge into a mighty river of information, which flows around us all the time. People draw water from this river of information according to their own needs and return it to the river when it is used up or not. Although this way of behavior is convenient, but it is difficult to form a spiritual core. Therefore, if you want to create their own spiritual world, or to rely on the classics.

Generally speaking, literary classics are the embodiment of the spirit and culture of a country or a nation, and excellent national culture will inevitably attract more people to discover its classics and civilization. Therefore, every country and nation must vigorously promote its culture, which is closely related to its economic strength and international status. In the meanwhile, we should also cultivate our own cultural confidence and genes,
First of all, the state should attach importance to cultural construction, support, spread and carry forward the cultural cause of classics, increase support to those experts and scholars who study classics, and encourage the inheritance, development and innovation of classics. In fact, we need to create a cultural environmrnt for people to read. For example, the country can set up some projects for the development of classic culture. Besides, in the process of developing the cultural industry, it can encourage the adaptation of classic stories and books to movies and animation, and develop movies and television programs related to classics, so as to combine teaching with entertainment in the way of using the latest science and technology to tell and spread classics.
Secondly, the society and schools should pay attention to cultivating teenagers' understanding of classics, actively carry out relevant courses, and organize some field trips to increase students' personal experience. In addition, we can also carry out some classic book reading clubs and arrange expert lectures to give students professional guidance. It is also a good idea to assign appropriate reading assignments for students so that they can have a habit of reading classics or let them watch traditional performances to learn about other classics.
Thirdly, in addition to playing a supervisory role in the family, parents should set an example by accompanying their children to read together, which is also a kind of improvement for them and a good way to urge adults to read classics.
Fourth, for each one of us should have the consciousness of reading classic, we can contact classics from our own interest in classic. If reading books will make you feel boring, we can watch movies and television programs related to classics,as am attempt to gradually develop our interest in it, but finally we still need to return to the book, feeling the cahrm of characters. And maybe we should find a pal to read together as a way of mutual supervison and communicaation. --He Lina (talk) 15:29, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

Interest is the premise of reading, students who are not interested in reading can only cope with the job, no effect. Stimulating students' interest in reading is the key to improve students' extracurricular reading. The teacher can use the classroom to speak the wonderful place of a famous book consciously, speak more vivid, can read the appetite of the student to hang up, if can and the text that is learning to unite more effective. Some masterpieces are short, students can squeeze time to read carefully, and for long masterpieces, students should read in a quite environment. At this time can organize students sub-contracting, complete reading masterpieces together. Such as in guiding students extracurricular reading "the water margin", the book is divided into "the story of Lin chong and lu", "outsmarted his birth story", "the story of wu song", "the story of li kui", "the story of the sung river" and so on several parts, each of the students read a part of and then take advantage of every day for a few minutes before class let students take turns to introduce the story, It not only makes the whole class familiar with the original work, but also cultivates the students' cooperative consciousness and exercises their oral expression. In short, there are a lot of extra-curricular reading methods, but extensive reading can be intensive reading, reading can be analyzed, as long as the students like reading classics, can let students learn from the nutrition of knowledge, edify their own sentiment, our goal is achieved.--Hu Liangming (talk) 12:43, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

First of all, traditional Chinese classics should learn to market. We can consider starting from traditional classics to launch cultural creations. For example, in the Dream of the Red Chamber, the costumes, women's hairpins, etc. are described in great detail.According to the author's meticulous description, it is possible to launch an official cultural creation, and at the same time carry out appropriate marketing promotion on various social media.Relying on influential bloggers for promotion can attract a large number of young people. At the same time, chinese classics can be adapted, and the text can be adapted into movies and TV series, which may be more attractive. Intuitive images may be easier to disseminate and have a wider audience than text. Now, since digital reading accounts for most of people's reading time, let's use this drawback to promote Chinese classics.Fragmented reading time can arouse some interest, because the time is very short, the length is not long, it will not take up too much time. If you add some text explanations, reduce the threshold of public reading, the public acceptance may be relatively high.--Huang Qiong (talk) 11:41, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

1) Start with the best parts. For example, in the Journey to the West, three battles of the White Bone Demon, Monkey King havoc in heaven and other wonderful scenes are very charming. The importance of first impressions speaks for itself, so it's far better to start with the best parts than to start from the beginning. 2) You can read only part of it, not all of it. A lot of famous books are worth reading for a lifetime, and there are readable parts for every age group. So you don't have to be occupied with the whole book of the Three Kingdoms in your youth. 3) Quick reading and extensive reading with peers. If teenagers have not formed a good reading habit since childhood, they will often be misled by intensive reading in the classroom -- think that reading means to make notes, to make clear every detail, to sum up the meaning. In fact, it is not necessary. A good story, a good character, a good plot, and a good language will always remain in your heart, secretly fermented, and become the nourishment for growth.

As for this question, I think we should make classics less “classical”. Many people, especially younger generations, have a stereotype of classics like boring, tedious, old, and outdated. To get rid of these impressions, we should do some campaigns to attract people. For example, book stores can invite some popular writers to share their stories with classics. Maybe a writer hated classics in her or his childhood but accidentally enjoyed reading this kind of book, then becoming a writer. Maybe one writer has a very different view on classics, she or he treats it like a storybook or guidance on life. Besides, we can use new media tools to gauge their interests. Many TV shows, for example, went viral in China. The Chinese Poetry Competition and Everlasting Classics are the perfect demonstrations. These two shows got people to read Chinese Classics, which became a trend during their air time. Once people appreciate the beauty and significance of classics, they would read them from time to time. “Everlasting Classics has reached a new aesthetic height in the perspective of cultural transmission and innovation of music…” (Guangming Daily) The last suggestion is to know which one classic is your cup of tea. Set a long list of classics and categorize them according to the contents. People can choose the one they like or are interested in. Only with interest and curiosity, they can finish reading a classic. --Li Yijia (talk) 12:46, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Before making people read classics again,we should figure out what kind of classics we should let people read. Even in The four Books and Five Classics, there are some views run the opposite direction with modern ideas. For example, the three cardinal guides (ruler guides subject, father guides son and husband guides wife) in the feudal ethical code is serving the feudal ruling class and patriarchal system. These trite ethnics contradict with modern concepts such as freedom, equality, democracy and science, which will impede the social development. So Firstly, we should let people read those classics of progressive significance. As for those cliche classics, people just want to avoid them, let alone reread them. Thus, we should choose those classics with modern educational significance that can arouse people’s interests. What’s more, when rereading the classics, we should discard the dross and select the essence as well. Secondly, the governments and schools should redouble efforts to promote classics books. As for students, schools and teachers can organize some activities about classics, such as reading party, debate and so on.Instead of pushing the students to cram up classics, we should teach them classics through lively activities so as to make them love reading classics. While for adults, the government can promote classics through social media or TV programmes, set up free classic books reading kiosks.--Li Simin (talk) 14:40, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Since people are living at a fast-paced society, they little spend time on reading. Life, money, relationship... many factors have filled people's daily life. But, I always trust one word: there is time. It all depends on ourselves. What kind of person you want to become, what life you want to build, it's your choice. When one knows the truth, time on reading classics is always available. There comes another question: too many books are waiting for us, why classics? Here is my apprehension. All of them have experienced tests from people, and more importantly, time. In the long river of time, competitions among books must have eliminated parts of normal ones, therefore, those left ones must have their characteristics and unique charms, which are capable of teaching or reminding us. Advice for make people read them again: First, recommendation from press, mainstream media, school and relative units. Second, less pressure on work, study and relative aspects, then people have time on themselves.

1. At the national level, governments should focus on the improvement of cultural and moral cultivation in education sector, and focus on cultivating and supporting the study and revival of classics. 2. From the social level, schools and families should pay attention to the cultivation of children's ability to read classics and form the habit of reading classics. At the same time, schools should also set up more courses on classic books and hold classic book reading parties, etc. 3. At the personal level, everyone should really understand the meaning of classics rather take them as ornaments to show their personal taste, but to read them carefully and understand the cultural beauty and significance of them.

Classics are significant for all of us. It has several reasons to read them again. Firstly, reading classics shapes good quality and promote personal growth. The reason why classics become classics lies in their profound theme, speculative height and keen insight. Repeated reading of classics can make people sharp in thinking, broad in vision, noble in sentiment, and in the improvement of personality and the cultivation of interest. Secondly, they also Improve your own cultivation and form a good atmosphere. It is an important symbol of the degree of civilization in the society. Thirdly, classics provide a convient way to improve our writing skills. The implied spirit and emotion were be given through contacting and communicating with authors through their works. Why has the classics reading become a dilemma for people nowadays? First of all, the fragmentation of reading habits has weakened their cognitive ability. The information dissemination on Weibo, WeChat and Tik Tok is limited in word count and publication time, so the information is limited in the process of dissemination. It is easy to change a topic from one to another, so less time is given for them to concentrate on one exact topic .Though individuals are free to publish information on Weibo, WeChat and Tik Tok, the quality of output information will be given a precise standards. The new media environment gives audiences more choices of information, and in the process of reception and dissemination, the masses will unconsciously choose the information they are interested in and block the information they dare not be interested in. Second, the shallow thinking weakens the innovation ability of human being. As the new media environment, people are often disturbed by digital advertisements, animations and games, and their thingking process are easily interrupted, which result in their reluctance to invest time and energy in thinking deeply and actively choosing shallow reading. The randomness of reading increases, and the initiative of reading is not controlled by readers but medias. Moreover, the utilitarianizing of reading purpose hinders the overall growth of college students.Reading is of strong purpose, they always pay more attention to reference books and books with specialized fields rather than humanities classics.Such reading is beneficial for them to acquire, organize and screen information, improve their ability to judge, evaluate and use information, and become professional and technical talents, but the reading of literature, history, philosophy and humanistic classics and so on is excluded. Therefore, there are some ways to make people read classics again. The reasons are inseparable from the environment in which we live now, so there are different dilemmas that people of different ages face in reading the classics, and different approaches that can be taken. Firstly,it’s important to create a cultural atmosphere of reading classics and work on raising awareness of reading. For elementary and junior high school students, in order to make classical reading an indispensable part of their children's daily lives and to make it stick for a long time, parents should first of all raise their own attention to cultural heritage and realize that developing their children's reading habits of classics plays an important role in improving their own cultural literacy and excellent moral qualities. Second, they need to develop effective reading plans. In order to develop the habit of reading the classics at regular times and to raise the child's awareness of the importance of reading to him, parents can use the 10 minutes after the child wakes up early or before he goes to bed late to read the classics every day.For college students, raising reading awareness is the foundation and prerequisite for solving the reading dilemma of contemporary Chinese people. Improving reading awareness requires them to attach great importance to reading from school level and student level. First of all, colleges and universities should implement the spirit of relevant documents of the Ministry of Propaganda on reading for all people. It is necessary to solve the awareness problem of the leading team of colleges and universities, especially the comrades in charge of high line propaganda departments, libraries and other functional departments, in order to effectively strengthen the guidance of reading education for college students. Secondly, the cracking of the reading dilemma needs the guidance of external forces such as society, and more importantly needs the awakening of college students' reading consciousness. Hence, we could strengthen the work on reading services, related technology and advocacy.--Li Ying (talk) 03:58, 24 March 2022 (UTC)Li Ying

Nowadays, people will consider the classics as something that only scholars can enjoy, because they think there is a threshold to get into the world of classics. The general impression of people on the classics is that they are old-fashioned, hard and boring. People might admire the classics, but they rarely read them. If we want to make people read classics again, we had better keep ourselves away from analyzing the writing devices and figures of speeches embodied in a classic. We should focus on what the story in a classic is about and how it is relevant to our daily life in this modern age. When it comes to the approaches to make people read classics again, I have several suggestions in my mind. First of all, give different versions of classics, such as simplified version, and the version with detailed annotations, for people with different needs. Secondly, don’t push people, especially teenagers, to read classics for the purpose of passing the examination. Teachers and parents can cultivate their habit of reading and usher them into the world of classics, leading them to think about the inspiration of classics to us. Thirdly, the combination of artificial intelligence and classics. People are used to the life that are closely connected with technologies. In order to make people read classics again, we need to corporate it into the thing that they are interested in. The idea is that artificial intelligence is able to make it possible that the characters in the classics can be alive, and they can present the brief introduction of the story in the book, which can attract people to read more about it.--Li Yuan (talk) 05:38, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Interest is the best teacher. The question "How to make people read classics again" can be converted into the question "how to make people interested in classics". As technology advances, people get less and less patient that few people will devote much of their energy and time into classics, which was not so interesting and sometimes hard to understand. The first method to arouse interest was book review. Book review is also a kind of advertising, though for books only. Countless books are published each year and only through book reviews can we make better decision when choosing which ones to read. Book reviews written by famous and intellectual people on classics could be a spur to people's interest on classics. The second method was adopted movies or TV drama. Watching TV or movies is much easier than reading. After seeing the beautiful scenes and attracting plots of a classic, though sometimes out-of-fashion stories, people may be attracted by these works. It requires specialities for a novel to become a classics. Many people may be attracted by films and dramas and initiate an idea of reading the original work to get a full perspective of the whole story, sometimes legend.--16:29, 23 March 2022 (UTC)梁思婷

To make people read classics again, we need to figure out what is a classic and what kind of books can be considered classics at first, given that we are bombarded by various information every day. A classic, in my humble opinion, is a book that can give people some enlightenment for life and that has stood the test of the time, whether it’s highbrow literature or popular literature. Moreover, the whole society needs to form an atmosphere for reading classics. But for this to happen, we should combine efforts. Firstly, educators and teachers can cultivate the habit of reading classics and spread its importance among students through assignment reading, book reports, book clubs, etc. Secondly, films and television programs, say, The Chinese Poetry Competition, Readers, Pride and Prejudice, etc. serve as a good way to present classics to people or evoke their interest in certain classics. I have seen many friends of mine were more interested in the original book after watching a film based on it. Finally, readers, I would argue, should have a positive attitude toward classics or even reading. Nowadays, few people are willing to spend a lot of time reading with no utilitarian purposes. We live in a digital era where various online platforms have been trying to grab our screen time as long as they can. So we need to resist enormous temptations and sit down to read.

Firstly, if we want to make people read classics again, we need to figure out why people are not willing to read classics now. I think it it because we have too many choices now so that we focus less on our own culture. We just want to try some new things, however, it usually gives rise to our negelection to the classics. To deal with this problem, we need to make efforts from three parts. Firstly, the government need to encourage people to read classics by proper publicity. Secondly, schools and public cultural institutions can organize some reading clubs and reading activities. Thirdly, from the personal level, we citizen should form the habit of reading, especially classics reading,--Liu Chang (talk) 03:11, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

As it is often said, ”A classics is what everybody knows yet few people read.” Indeed, classics have high and profound value, and at the same time, can be boring or "too much" for the general readers. So, how to engage the public in reading classics? My thoughts are as follows.
Firstly, students should be given more time to read classics which doesn’t have much to do with their testing grades. For most teenagers, they don’t really have enough time to read a classic carefully.
Secondly, there should be more informative as well as entertaining TV programs on classics, such as Lecture Room(百家讲坛), from which I started and finished reading Romance of Three Kingdoms. But now Lecture Room seems to be less attracting than before, so maybe it needs a little changes.
Last but not least, we need to cultivate an environment of reading and talking about classics, making it a cool thing. I always hear boys talking about online novels, games and Japanese animations, and girls talking about South Korean stars and love stories. Of course, most of the time I would follow the trends. There are some classics fans too, including those who enjoy popular cultures, but they seldom talk about it. The reasons, I think, are that people don’t want to risk being special so they just keep it to themselves and follow the trend, and since classics are high-brow so people refrained from talking much about it so as to avoid making mistakes and “showing their ignorance”.
In such a digital age, when we have numerous access to reading as well as so many distractions keeping us away from reading. We have a long way to go in making people read classics again.--Liu Lele (talk) 14:05, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

1 The government should make more efforts to improve people’s awareness toward the importance of classic works. The government can make various posters and murals about the story in some classic works to attract people’s attention, thus, they can get to know some knowledge about what the poster and murals depict. 2 Just like the saying goes:“Interest is the best teacher”. From my perspective, it’s extremely significant for both the teachers and the parents to cultivate the children’s interest in classic works, and the government can publish some interesting and simple story books for them to read. From an early age, they begin to learn some ancient cultures of China. Later, some of them maybe interested in the classic works and continue to read more of them. 3 The plots or stories of classic works can be made into films or TV and so on. When people in leisure, they can watch them to know the classic works.--Liu Shuangying (talk) 07:06, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

How to make people read classics again? I think we can do as follows: First, We need to classify different kinds of classics, for example, the Tang poetry, the Qing novels, the Yuefu poetry, etc. Then, according to different genres, we can set up specific classes, which can be required or selected. Second, we need to encourage the various types of adaptation of the classic works, like movies, TV and stage plays, etc. Third, in school, those who love reading classics can organize some clubs and hold some relevant activities on the theme of classic works, absorbing more students to join these activites and cultivate their interests in reading classics. Forth, school can give some lectures on how to correctly read classics with efficiency. There is no deny that many people don't read classics because of the degree of difficulty of reading classics. We can teach them in this way so that they can forster a good habit and gain some skills in reading classics.--Liu Ting (talk) 05:04, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

First of all, the government is responsible for this work. It should offer supports through officially setting up a panel and allocating funds. Then, various action should be taken to arouse people's interest in classics. To know their interests well, a survey can be conducted to investigate which forms of classics target readers feel more interested in. If we take college students as main target readers,we can first give out a questionnaire and collect useful ideas from them. In the meantime, several readable classics can be sent to some of the participants as gifts. After the survey is done, the panel of experts should make joint efforts to discuss on the results and give a feasible plan. Effective measures should be taken to materialize the plan.
In addition, according to known information, college students may show more interest in short videos, games and TV programs or films, etc. Therefore, the experts can choose some classics with attractive plots or historical facts and assign this task to the skilled to make different kinds of adaptions of these works. By this way, the target readers may have a further knowledge of classics and develop interest in them.
In conclusion, it is not an easy work to make people read classics again, which needs concerted efforts from all walks of life.--Liu Yao (talk) 04:26, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Firstly, we should choose different reading methods for different classic works. Different authors live in different times, so their vision and thinking mode are different. Even writers of the same age can see the same thing very differently because of their different experiences. Therefore, we need to understand different angles and ways in the process of reading. It is impossible for us to find the same template method to forcibly read all the classics, which requires us to have a broad vision and an inclusive mentality to explore and perceive. Secondly, choose the right books. Choosing books that are appropriate for your age and life experience can give you a lot of insight into your current self. Focus on reading order. You can read from light to deep, or from total to point, and then repeat until you understand. Focus on your reading perspective. In the process of reading, we should not only substitute ourselves into books, but also jump out of the book content. We should not only realize its significance ahead of the times, but also consider its contemporary value. We should not only appreciate the essence of its ideological content, but also retain our critical perspective. Finally, writing down your feeling after reading, we can write down our feeling of the books based on our own understanding and experience, so that we can think again in the furure. --Liu Zhen (talk) 10:09, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

As early as a few years ago, the state clearly pointed out the need to build a Chinese culture curriculum and teaching material system, focusing on early childhood primary and secondary school materials, so that the excellent traditional Chinese culture can be used throughout national education. But we have to figure out what to read and how to read it. Some schools and parents today are obsessed with making their children recite the "Disciple's Rules" in the way of mandatory indoctrination and rote memorization which brought a counterproductive attempt , and even lead to children do not like classical reading materials. The Ministry of Education has long developed 700 books of traditional Chinese culture materials for all school levels, and we can create different ways to attract people to love the classics based on these readings. For children by nature, we can use the classical children's books as the basis for lively and interesting cartoons, comic books, etc. For young people, in addition to the school curriculum, the guidance of parents is also very important. Parents themselves can take the lead in reading the classics and create an atmosphere of reading the classics at home. For adults, we can increase the classical reading component in public service announcements, so that people can understand the benefits of reading the classics. The same visual approach is popular among adults. For example, programs like CCTV's "The Reader" are very meaningful.--Ma Yanhuan (talk) 09:15, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

The reason why classics are called classics is because they have specific value, and this value will not disappear with the passage of time. What we need to do is to promote the ideas and values of classics in the new era with new methods, so as to guide people to read the classics again. First, we should list classic reading as a compulsory course in the education system, so as to promote classic reading by compulsory means. This is an effective way to promote classic reading especially for middle school students. Second, we can dig out some valuable topics from the classics, and find out some attractive stories from them, and then tell those stories in line with the modern ways of aesthetic expression, and guide people to further read the classics. Third, we can also find out the excellent films and TV dramas adapted from the classics, so as to promote the ideas expressed in the classics and make the classics more attractive to our people. Forth, we can use popular emerging social platforms such as TikTok and Weibo, which have a broad audience, to promote classic works, and let more people understand the charm of classic works. As students, we should not look at the classic works with a pilgrimage mentality, instead, we should take these works as ordinary friends. We can have questions about or even doubt them, only in this way can we overcome the boredom, and learn something from the classics.--Nie Wei (talk) 03:43, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

How to make people read classics again? This is a meaningful question.During to the increasingly accessible digital devices, many people read books in their smart phones, iPads and the like. Then how to make people read classes again, there are two means as regard to this. First of all, from the school perspective, the administrators and teachers should introduce some classics to students and encourage them to read more and write down the feelings after the students read those classics. Then, as for students themselves, they should develop an interest in reading books first, including novels popular with youngsters, then gradually try to read the classics. --Sun Lijun (talk) 05:27, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

To begin with, we can combine classics with all kinds of media. Most classics have a long history, which causes an old and outdated language style. So many people will lose interest and confidence to finish reading classics when meet with obstacles in understanding. The adaptation of classics into eye-catching movies, TV programs, cartoons and games will solve the understanding problem to a large extent, and will even arouse people’s desire to read original classics. Furthermore, try to dig topics relevant to current era in classics. With abundant figures, stories plots and philosophy, classics can be seen as a huge treasure. Connecting the opinions about politics, wars, life and personal happiness in classics with hot topics today will enlighten people and further stimulate people’s interest in reading classics. At last, making people read classics again can’t be rushed, which need the joint help of our government, society, schools and media to form an atmosphere of read classics. One step at a time.--Tong Yumeng (talk) 10:43, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

Adapt classics into movies or videos. There are some successful examples, such as Sacrifice (《赵氏孤儿》), which attracts many watchers and generates their interests on classics.
Make reading classics as a compulsory course. It will be an effective way to promote students to read them. Activities such as presentation and speech contest can also be launched in school.
Show our respect to the classics. Classics represent the highest level of a nation. But sometimes people do not respect them or even criticize them of worthlessness, especially now we are in a modern society, many people hold that classics play a positive role in the modernization process. These opinions are incorrect and ought to be banished.
Use scientific approaches. Nowadays, we have absorbed much western scientific and cultural knowledge and we have many useful implements, such as dictionaries and Internet. We can choose a proper one to help us reading classics.--Tong Lüeya (talk) 08:42, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

First, in terms of classics, we should figure out what kind of books can be considered classics. What matters most is that the classics are not only just these highbrow literature but also those lowbrow and down-to-earth ones. After all, the classics come from real life. As a result, the classics are not as incomprehensible as we imagine. Second, on a personal level, people should realize the importance and necessity of reading classics. The classics contain the wisdom of ancient people and sages, which can serve as a lighthouse for your journey of life. If you read as many classics as you can, you are more likely to live a happy and meaningful life than those who don’t. Third, in terms of the national education system, it should designate reading classics as a compulsory course to improve its status quo in China. Sometimes, the authorities and governments need to use political power to mandate something that is beneficial to people. Fourth, we should add more access for people to reading classics. To this end, many education institutions ranging from elementary schools to colleges and universities can provide more classics in their textbooks or libraries. Besides, we should have a social atmosphere that respects and loves the classics from the bottom of the heart. That is all my suggestions for letting people read classics again.--Tuo Shumei (talk) 02:01, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

Firstly, children's interest in reading classic literature should be cultivated from an early age, classic literature should be available in children's editions with illustrations and easy-to-understand content, and classic literature can be compiled into textbooks as well, meanwhile, The education department should vigorously promote Chinese studies and encourage the rise of Chinese classics education institutions, and schools can also carry out activities such as Chinese studies classes and reading clubs. Secondly, Chinese classics can be disseminated through television and other communication media, television stations can vigorously carry out cultural programmes on the classics of Chinese studies and return to the classics by filming television series and films, more importantly, the content of the filming should be easy to understand. Finally, the presentation forms of classical culture should be broadened according to the characteristics and needs of customers of different ages, and the threshold of access to classical culture should be lowered so that everyone has the opportunity to learn about it in depth.--Wang Siqi (talk) 14:12, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

First of all, I think it is important to increase the recognition of the classics. Only when people realise the rich cultural connotations and artistic values contained in classic works will there be a re-reading of the classics. Secondly, the traditional classics should be promoted through various means: schools can offer courses or organise various activities for students to reread the classics, such as speech competitions and reading groups; secondly, the media can vigorously promote the value of the classics, and can make use of the Internet to do so, for example, by creating relevant public numbers, variety shows and short videos; everyone can be a purveyor of the classics, and can start rereading them from themselves. Everyone can be a purveyor of the classics, starting by reading them themselves, recommending them to others around them, spreading them on the Internet, etc., thus increasing the interest in re-reading them.--Wang Yajuan (talk) 02:26, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

I believe we could address this problem with the joint efforts from external and internal factors. Inspired by the popularization of Putonghua, I believe it is feasible for the country to make classic-reading compulsory with the help of school education. Once the awareness of classic reading is roused in the formative years, the impact would be profound and lifelong. Another factor that may be conducive to classic reading is social media. Through propaganda, social media provides people exposed to the climate with a vicarious experience from classic-targeted TV programs and insinuates itself into their subconsciousness without any traces. Apart from external methods to attract people’s attention, classics itself has its own role to play too. In the contemporary world beset with hustle and bustle, the time that modern people would like to spare for reading is largely squeezed, not to mention classic reading. The rejuvenation of classics, therefore, is becoming increasingly significant. In that sense, the cinematic and televised adaption of classics is worth a try.--Xiao Dongqing (talk) 06:38, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

For the promotion of classics, no matter how much emphasis is placed on the significance of classics, it is not as good as to ignite interest in reading. Firstly, we need pay more attention to the contemporary significance of classic works, combine them with social reality and hot informations, and carry out in-depth processing to arouse readers' interest. Secondly, attach importance to readers' reading experience and protect their interest in reading, abandon the pages or web pages where the font is not clear, the font size is too small, the page is chaotic, and advertisements are full of pages. Thirdly, we cannot ignore the boom in reading the Romance of the Three Kingdoms after TV programe—— Yi Zhongtian's "Tasting the Three Kingdoms" .Fourthly, libraries should take the initiative to promote and market classical reading, competing with games which inundated in readers for fragmented time. In the Internet era, social networking, sharing and reading go hand in hand, for example, the proportion of news being shared is 83%, and social networks such as WeChat and microblogging should become an important place for classic reading promotion. If news is "new" to attract readers , and health care is "practical" to attract attention, then classical reading promotion should also find the unique point of each classical, so that readers can turn their online attention and browsing into offline reading behavior.

Joint efforts are needed to make people read classics again. First of all, the government should create a cultural environment by vigorously encouraging the research and development of classics by experts and scholars, as well as the rise of educational institution of classics. The adaptation of classics to films and television series is also a good idea to raise people's interests in reading classics. Secondly, the social media should contribute to promoting the classics by sharing resources on network exchange platform. For example, the introduction of all kinds of classics could be post on WeChat Official Account, and the book review and the information of lectures on classics could be offered at the online forum. Thirdly, the schools should cultivate the interests of students in classics and provide them with a further understanding of classics. Debate, writing competition, knowledge contest about classics could be held to encourage more students to get involved in reading classics. The libraries should keep a rich stock of classics for students to read. And the teachers are supposed to set an example by having a good command of classics and try to teach classics in class. Fourthly, we ourselves should consciously develop a habit of reading classics and be aware of the great value of classics. In this era of information explosion, we'd better resist the temptation of fragmented reading and learn to fix attention on books. Just calm down and soak ourselves in the world of classics, then we may feel the undeniable charm of them.--Xie Xiaoying (talk) 14:23, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

From my point of view, making people read classic again is not a easy thing. To begin with,we can start with the most interesting part of the classic. In general, classics are not as attractive as others novels. But if you are attracted by the most interested part of a classic, you may want to read the whole book immediately. Secondly,we can watch the famous movie adaptions of some classics to learn them primarily. Most of these adapted classics are funnier and easier to understand than the original one, and that arouse the readers more interest. Last but not least, you can read some of them, not all of them. A lot of famous books are worth reading for a lifetime. People in every age has something to read, do not have to read the whole book in youth. In this way,you can enjoy the process of reading classics without pressure .

From where I stand ,reading is very important to everyone. In the classmate's presentation, she suggested that teachers explore hot topics from the classics and discuss them in class, which may effectively enlighten students on classics reading. Besides, it is also a good idea for teachers to assign some reading tasks after class, to make students learn more about classics. In my opinion, We need to establish cultural awareness, read simplified classics from a young age, and have a certain impression of famous works. As we grow older, we can gradually come into contact with Chinese classics, learn the principles of life from them, and recharge our own lives in the future.

1.Let people get a clear picture about classics. Classics is not only about four books and five classics which are classical style of writing, but also includes some interesting modern books. We can read some famous articles and essays at first and then expand our reading gradually. 2.In the circumstances of rapid development and fast-pacing lifestyle,it's very hard for modern people to read in a peaceful manner, let alone reading classics. Therefore, we should creat a good environment for reading wherever at home or in workplaces. When people are tired, they can relax themselves and get rid of work temporarily to pick up one book they love to read. It will help them to develop a habit of reading gradually. 3.Read classics what you like. Interest is the best teacher. People are willing to do what they want to do. 4.We can take advantage of modern technologies and social media to promote the classical culture and let more people know about it. Holding some activities or programs such as Chinese Poetry Conference and Classical Songs Spread, etc. All of these will encourage people to learn about classics. 5.Produce more high-quality translation works of Classics and spread them to overseas. If we want to make foreigners know more about and even love Chinese culture, we should consider how to explain our classics better to them and let them not only understand the surface meaning of literary works, but scratch deeper significance.

First, we should add the course of reading classics in to the teaching curriculum, not only in the middle schools, even in colleges. I think more schools need to offer intensive reading classics courses to enable more students to participate in. At the same time, the forms of these courses should be diversified to arise students' interest. Only by adding more classic reading factors to our curriculum system can we guide contemporary young students to regain the classic culture. Then, we need to distinguish between classics. With the continuous development of society, not all classics are in line with the current situation of contemporary social development. We must extract its essence, remove its dross, retain the essence of classical culture, and integrate modern elements in order to integrate the classics with modern society and draw in the distance from contemporary young people. Finally, we can use modern media means to innovate classics. We can film the classics to attract people's interest, and then guide people to find the charm of the original works.--Zhang Guohao (talk) 11:10, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

Since the future is in the hands of the young, it is naturally that we should star with students in elementary, middle and high schools. They are the most susceptible ones, hence some carefully minded guidance can help them form good habits of reading classics. For those adults, they must be reminded of the importance of Chinese classics and be informed that those classics are not all serious literature as they thought. Interesting and thought-provoking classics should be promoted first, and then those more serious ones. As we all know, classics are the carriers of our culture and history. Therefore the reading of classics is conducive to our understanding of our ancestors as well as to our drawing on the wisdom from them. Chances are that those problems encountered by people before us would occur to us again, so it would be of help when we read their works and draw some lessons so that we do not have to make detours and get problem solved more efficiently.

1.Stop Being Scared of Classic Literature. We need to understand that the classics are for everyone. A classic doesn’t become a classic without a lot of people reading it and loving it for a long time. 2. Find A Classic Book That Suits You. Take a look at the books you’ve enjoyed in the past, your preferred genres and formats, and try to find classics that are similar to those. Maybe the genres have advanced or changed over time, but you’ll be able to find something that feels a little familiar in terms of themes, characters, settings, and so on.3. Get Some Context For What You’re Reading. will give you all the background information you need before reading your classic book: the life and inspiration of the author, the political context of their work, our contemporary understanding of what they were trying to say, the popularity of their work over time, how the work changed between editions, language quirks, and more. 4.Expand Your Classic Horizons. It is very important we broaden our horizons and improve our ability to appreciate classics.--Zhang Rui (talk) 09:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

As the saying goes: "Interest is the best teacher". First of all, when children are in kindergarten and primary school, parents and teachers can tell stories to let children initially contact the classics, and gradually cultivate their reading habits. Secondly, at the junior high school level, schools can research and develop school-based curricula related to classics, and arrange professional teachers to guide students to improve their understanding of classics. In addition, as for high school students, schools should provide more stages for students to participate in a variety of classic-related reading sharing sessions and reading competitions. At the same time, Chinese teachers should introduce classics into teaching and carry out in-depth discussions on classic topics in the classroom. On college campuses, libraries play an important role in promoting people to read the classics again. Libraries should strengthen the construction of book resources to ensure that the classics that people need are not lacking. Moreover, libraries should often carry out activities to promote reading classics and mobilize people's enthusiasm for reading. Finally, in this era of highly developed social media, mass media play an irreplaceable role in the process of cultural inheritance and dissemination. Nowadays, fragmented reading is popular, and more and more people pay more attention to online reading. Therefore, we can read the classics again through movies, TV series, and e-books. In addition, CCTV's talk shows such as "Lecture Room", "Chinese Poetry Competition" and "Readers" can also help us read and understand the classics.Of course, all these channels can only play a supporting role. The key to getting people to read the classics again is to make people realize the value of the classics in the contemporary era. There is an article called The Future of The English, wirtten by J. B. Priestley. In this article, He talks about the future development of English people amid the strong current of advertisement that cultivates people's hunger for more goods and yet cannot bring them happiness. Although China and England are different countries, the assault of advertisement is also true of China. In a broad sense, advertisement campaign not only refers to the those broadcast in TV and the Internet, it is a campaign that washes poeple in false values that focus on materiality, instead of spirituality. Therefore, something must be done. The author advises the English to turn to the old Englishness. I think China should seek to draw noursihment from art, the treasures of all countries.

Two main steps I think should be made. First, Guidance Classics are difficult to read as they lack much attraction as light novels do. However, every classics will have some pearls of wisdom. When reading those pearls, one may be attracted by the novel and wanted to read. Also, preface plays an important role. With an interesting preface, classics will leave a good impression on those people who are not patient enough. In a nutshell, guidance is inevitable in making people read classics again. Second, Connection One may fall in love with someone or something because he or she could establish strong connection with him or her or it. Therefore, to make people read classics again needs to make people connect themselves with classics. Connection, in general, is interaction. When a book is within one's hand, he or she could read it when time allows. When one believes that reading the book could make topics in his or her conversations with others, he or she will read them on his own initiative.--Zhou Haoxi (talk) 13:01, 23 March 2022 (UTC)周皓熙

Some well-known examples of classic literature include Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Whether you're a student or just an avid reader hoping to delve into classic literature, you may be wondering where to begin. Familiarizing yourself with a text before you read, using reading strategies to improve your understanding, and finding ways to reflect on the text can all help you to start with and understand a work of classic literature.--Zhou Zhe (talk) 06:29, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

The confirmation and belonging of a person's national identity need the nourishment of classics. Reading classics is to understand and cultivate a nation's deep feelings. National classics permeate the ideals and beliefs of generations. Today, with the development of science and technology, people feel that material wealth will bring happiness and depression at the same time. This also proves that reading classics is more and more necessary. The key to re-stimulate reading classics lies in keeping pace with the times, making full use of modern information technology, and promoting traditional classics education. First of all, we can carry out learning and reading activities through mobile devices such as mobile phones, and vigorously promote the popularization of traditional cultural classics. In addition, we can let professional scholars divide the original whole classic book into relatively independent small sections, with easy-to-understand words and clear explanations, and push it through social platforms such as WeChat public platform and WeChat Moment. Finally, by using big data technology, we can pay attention to different groups and even different learners. Based on their interests, we can design and recommend different quantitative learning systems, which can guide learners to gradually accumulate and transform fragmented learning into systematic knowledge.--Zhu Lijuan (talk) 15:45, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Classics refer to the enduring works of all generations and the "most valuable" works selected by history. Classics are the cultural treasures of a nation, and reading classics is of great significance.Classics can help shape the mind, deliver wisdom, cultivate sentiment and expand horizon. Reading classic works has found a correct way of life and method for people to insight into life, purify their souls, and understand the meaning and purpose of life. Through reading cultural classics, national culture and spirit can be carried on and continuously developed. However, with the rapid development of social economy, the pace of life is fast, and people's hearts are also impetuous. Few people can calm down and read classic works. What can we do to make people read classics again? I would like to make the following suggestions. 1. Cultivate a cultural environment for reading classics.Environment has a great impact on people's cognition and behavior.Over the years, China has been advocating the revival of national classics studies, which has also caused an upsurge of it, which is a good trend to guide people to read classics. 2. Classics need not only inheritance but also propoganda. Although classics are famous, they still need to be publicized to help them get people's attention again. Let classics combine with contemporary trends and let them glow again. 3. Make classic reading a compulsory course. For young people, it is an effective way to make them to read classics.--Duan Xiaodie (talk) 06:26, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Introduction
Etymology. The word "classics" is derived from the Latin adjective classicus, meaning "belonging to the highest class of citizens." The word was originally used to describe the members of the Patricians, the highest class in ancient Rome .
This question is very important in nowadays but to answer it, I will ask myself a certain questions, why people are not reading classics again and what are consequences. After answering these questions, Ithink there are many ways or strategies to make people read classic again.
First of all, they need promote or disseminate classics around the world, which corresponds to the need of people and also can attract people to read classics again, implement some new policies which can give more impetus to the classics and also show the significant of the classics . For example, Classic works such as those by Leo Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoevsky, or Charles Dickens contain beautiful language. They express complex human emotions into words and phrases which can add to our vocabulary and improve our ability to speak. Secondly, the writers or author can also write many relevant classic materials for the readers, make it easier to understand for the readers, organize many classic conferences and create classical reading website for people.
Conclusion
To make people to read classics again is very important because in a world that relies on email communication and written content to apply for jobs, universities, or for research grants, being able to express yourself well is invaluable and there are studies that demonstrate that people who read classics have better social cognition.
I will finalize with this quotation from Djibril Tansir Niane:the world is old but the future comes from past" which means if we want to be successful we have go back to the past.
