The current situation of Chinese literature in Germany 在德国的中国文学现状

Germany is a very open literature market, it has a huge part of foreign literature, exactly every 8th work of literature is a translation (4.0% of the whole book trade and 12.5% of the literature book trade), but mostly from English, then French, Italian, Swedish and Spanish.

德国是一个非常开放的文学市场，它在外国文学中占有很大的比重，确切地说，每第八份文学作品就有一份翻译作品（占整个图书贸易的4%和文学书籍贸易的12.5%），但主要来自英语，然后是法语、意大利语、瑞典语和西班牙语。

The situation of Chinese literature in Great Britain and in the USA is better: As the most spoken 2nd language in the world, it is natural to first take care of a translation into English than into other languages. Also in comparison with similar countries like France, the situation of Chinese literature is better in France than in Germany. This is due to the French tradition to import literature from the African colonies, so that they are more open to minor literatures, like the Chinese. Publishing houses in France are independant and proud to present their readers not so well-known and even exotic authors and works they have scouted themselves. So there are more translations of Chinese literature into English and French than into German.

中国文学在大不列颠和美国的情况比较好：作为世界上使用人数第二多的语言，自然要首先注意翻译成英语而不是其他语言。与法国等类似国家相比，在法国的中国文学的处境要好于德国。这是因为法国具有从非洲殖民地进口文学的传统，这使他们对弱势文学更加包容，如中国的。法国的出版社是独立和自豪地把自己找到的不太知名的甚至是异国情调的作家作品介绍给他们的读者。因此，中国文学翻译成英语和法语的数量比德语要多。
